Well, the only one that do so is phone-obsessed teenagers, and the "lol so funny popular" YouTubers that manage to get more attention than reviewers that are way more funnier, and don't attempt to do anything socially stupid. (Just my personal opinion.)

So I was in the middle of very productive modeling work, was so proud of myself and then BLENDER JUST F*CKING CRASHED!!!

With blender your left hand kinda learns ctrl-s position well, in fact so well that when preparing a toast you tend to hit that combo just to be safe.

I modeled a fire truck once, got overall shape done in a day, then I thought about saving so I go saving and BOOOM there it crashes down, lost whole day and that kinda killed the motivation.

I have now Blender 2.78 with Cuda rendering and it hasn't crashed once, so I'm kinda stuck to this version:


Can't really remember where I got this, because I remember looking for more optimized builds, I had downloaded file one day later than date you see in screenshot though. It's either blender-2.78-9f67367-win64.zip or blender-2.78-9f67367-win64-vc14.zip that I have in use and you can leave it running for days do whatever you need to and it will not crash, which in case of Blender seems to be something that I find hard to belive even I'm experiencing that all the time.

So there are newer versions, they claim there is over 700 bugfixes, but I like my version and keep using this, even I can't really model.




I though I had lost tens of mods I have tampered something in, but with search function managed to find misplaced folder, thinking of making backup now.

Why do you not have autosave on?? I thought it was a default actually. It saves every 1 or 2 minutes, you will never lose work that way.
