While I do agree to a certain extent, the most urgent thing that needs to be done is up to us: avoiding situations that would require mod interventions in the first place. First step is the userbase gaining a little bit of maturity. Only then we might question the quality of forum moderation.
>not pushing anything under a rug >doesn't explain what is currently going on at all and ignores it ok
Being negative is easy, being positive is hard, doing hard things will reward more than doing easy things, kudos to everyone working hard to be better than yesterday.
Your definition of bashing seems to be vastly different from mine, bashing is repeated hateful and degrading criticism. What happened was many users calling out someone on a poor quality mod, (that the user decided to spam pictures of constantly for 2 weeks prior), and everyone losing their shit. People here seem more offended over a shit mod being critiqued than respected members leaving the forum over the childlike maturity of the general user base. If people who critique and point out flaws in something are treated negatively and people who praise utter garbage are glorified, who wins? All you create is spoilt egotistical brats who think far too highly of themselves and cannot see their own work as it really is. You do not build a person up by giving participation medals, you build them up by rewarding them when they truly succeed.
Agreed, as far as Dean goes the first like 2 weeks of the ram being posted it had no materials, a job should be done before "showcasing" said mod. There is a section on the forum he could have posted to get help before posting in community screens. But each to their own.
Oh, so you are the superior guys now? Remember when you started posting shitty mods of something when you got into modding? No? I guess your skill is god-given then or so.
we also put in the time and effort making/adapting things by ourselves as opposed to mesh slapping and making threads of how to do every little thing (all of which is described on the wiki, if you bother t read it)
Alright. I’m an idiot for even having the thought of peace on the forums go though my head, ok? I wish I never even tried to make people calm down. And now even @tdev is against me. Ban me if you wish, because I’m not coming back, there’s only a certain amount of hate a human can take. I almost left yesterday, but some other members begged me to stay. Well I’m not staying. I hate these dreaded forums and I actually hope the devs ban me because I don’t even want the temptation of coming back. I don’t like all these jokes about suicide people are making, I don’t like how much hate people get for just trying to do something for fun, I also don’t like how much negativity people get for trying to just simply make a change. I CANT DO THIS ANYMORE. I QUIT.
