Re: General discussion chat The point I was making is exactly the opposite of what you're trying to say. GFWL is long gone and microtransactions are up to the developer, rarely the publisher. Nothing in the picture is reflective of Microsoft whatsoever.
Re: General discussion chat Really? My games on steam that used GFWL (Red Faction: Guerrilla for example) still have it I literally can't play the game because GFWL's broken ass service.
Re: General discussion chat As in no new games use the service and haven't done so since 2012. Most games that have or had GFWL have been patched to remove it from their games, but considering Red Faction is essentially dead, I'm not surprised it hasn't been removed. Look for something called XLive, it'll remove GFWL from your game.
Re: General discussion chat I don't think Microsoft will have any real influence, other than the new PS3 version "mysteriously" dissapearing... Who cares about that anyway Happened to me with GTA IV, xliveless fixes that. It basically replaces all online features provided in xlive.dll by dummy features that literally do nothing, therefore completely disabling GFWL while not crashing the game.

Re: General discussion chat i already see one good thing coming from this: minecraft pocket edition for windows phone (obviously nothing's confirmed yet, but I'd be extremely surprised to not see this happen) so that would be one less app i'd miss if i were to go from android to windows phone next upgrade anyway though, if i do end up getting a windows phone, the nokia lumia 1020 as it seems like a solid device (and because nokia, probably extremely durable as well) if i stay with android, ill get a galaxy note 3 (or the note 4 depending on the price at the time of my upgrade, or some other galaxy device depending on the available devices at time of upgrade)
