Re: General discussion chat ok, so aperently the reason my mint flash drive isn't working is because it didn't become written as bootable, and it doesn't seem to want to either :/ EDIT: ok, forget linux, not worth it at all, not only does it refuse to create a bootable flash drive, but it almost ruined my flash drive
Re: General discussion chat Asus has pretty good reliability on all motherboards. While the sabertooth does use slightly better rated components all of the components on all of the z97 Asus platform are way more than enough. The video in this playlist do a pretty decent job of explaining the product line, jj is from Asus so remember that he obviously has bias. But it will mainly compare features. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgYEU1QvJOL-v5NvAp5G4gxwJWqTufMO1 In short, the Asus -A boards are good enough for any use case, but as you go up you do gain some desirable features.
Re: General discussion chat I like how everyone's shitting themselves over the bugatti but nobody gives a fuck about the prius that went flying majestically through the skies. (Specifically the driver)
Re: General discussion chat Apparently a Kerbal will pretty much always survive any fall if they land on their head.
Re: General discussion chat I've killed many head first trying to prove whether or not that is the case. They do survive more often, but can indeed be killed (try deorbiting one head first )
Re: General discussion chat Microsoft is a company. What's the point of a company? Making money. There you go. You're gonna love AMD Radeon advertising. http://www.amd.com/en-us/markets/game
Re: General discussion chat I've saved three consecutive kerbals from death this way. One from a failed EVA in low kerbin orbit, and two from capsules locked in orbit with no propulsion. Landing head-first with aerobraking worked consistently.
Re: General discussion chat Usually if I had a kerbal from some distance and lands on its head, he'll bounce, and then when he lands that bounce he won't land on it's head and will die. That game was fun when I first got it. It still is, but I can't get back into it.
Re: General discussion chat I've killed 2 Kerbals by accidental deorbiting. Their ships are still in orbit. Once it becomes possible to save ships in one place I plan to send a mission up to grab thenm and bring them back as memorials.
Re: General discussion chat Ive only ever played the demo Sent from the 3rd galaxy from the talks of tapping
Re: General discussion chat I tried doing that with Bill because his ship was stuck in orbit with no power. He ran out of jetpack fuel when the lowest orbit point was about 73000 meters. (Aerobreaking starts at 69000ish.)
Re: General discussion chat To be fair, when I said deorbit, I came from Mün. I've died head first numerous times. Deorbit, cannon (invert one of the big engines and drop a kerbal in it, turns out the exhaust plume does apply a force to a kerbal), failed jet evacuations, flipped rovers, the lot.
Re: General discussion chat I've probably killed the most kerbals in mun rover accidents. Idek how many of those things I've destroyed.
Re: General discussion chat I've killed so many by smashing into the Mun. Before I got the 770 I couldn't play on max and it was always tricky to see how high up you were. You can keep ships in a permanent place without a pilot? I thought they became debris.
Re: General discussion chat Oh no not by smashing into the mun, it had to do with rather poorly designed rovers and me going way to fast on rough terrain in unfamiliar gravity. Once you get wonky it's impossible to tame those things. I also managed a few casualties building my space stations. Most of them involved ships striking eva kerbals. That was definitely the most deadly project I did lol. All in the name of science. RIP to all brave kerbals' lives lost
Re: General discussion chat I'm not even able to leave Kerbin's orbit.. My rocketeering skills are terrible..
