Re: General discussion chat I thought power supplies would be expensive, it's pretty cheap actually... I live in Brazil though, I gotta find a Brazilian store. - - - Updated - - - I found this, is it good? (I don't know too much about computers) Cougar Power X 550w Power Supply - Ultra Quiet - Active PFC - 87% Efficiency In USD it costs about $150.
Re: General discussion chat Honestly I couldn't care less about the release of ios 8. I've only had 7 for like 5 months. I don't understand why everyone gets so excited about these ios releases. Whoop-dy-do and new os.
Re: General discussion chat I guess if that if the best you can find in your country. But tbh thats overpriced imo.
Re: General discussion chat So, renewable energy is great and all, but if you're going to put 350 acres of it in my backyard, oh no you don't, you can fuck right off.
Re: General discussion chat so someone posted this on gtaforums (notice the bottom left corner of the map, then youll see just how awesome it would be for this to be a real map on gta) Original Post
Re: General discussion chat If you have a 770 and you plan to buy a 4690K (better than the 4670K for £5 more), you'll need at least a 600W PSU. You can do with a good 500W, but it's always good to have some upgrade headroom and your PSU will have a significantly longer lifespan if you don't push it to its limits. inb4 flamewar
Re: General discussion chat I'm glad it wasn't like that because GTA was a last gen release originally, it would've ran like crap having to stream so much.
Re: General discussion chat Just make sure you get a quality PSU. I used to have a Coolmax 500w which worked fine for me for years. Back when I had my A8 I got my R9 270 and awhile after that the problems started. (It couldn't handle my GPU being overclocked because it would use too much power, and it started overheating.) After I upgraded the CPU to an 8320 (25w higher TDP) that PSU lasted about two days before the heat killed it. Now I've got a Be Quiet! 500w which is having no issues at all running my components at very high overclocks.
Re: General discussion chat General rule of thumb that does have exceptions: Do not buy a power supply from an obscure brand. Stick to brands that have a reputation to keep. A lot of the well known brands just re-badge oem stuff, which is totally fine as long as it is decent quality oem stuff. Make sure you check reviews as well, if you cant find any proper reviews (not user reviews) of a product then you may be best keeping away from it, while there are exceptions to this its pretty solid advice for people who don't know the market too well. I use a cooler master silent pro psu. I really like it, i haven't had any issues with it at all so far and it looks pretty good too. But there are tons of other good brands and you may not have the budget for an 80+gold psu. Just make sure it hits 80+bronze. Couple brands that are generally good: Enermax Corsair Cooler master Be quiet! Seasonic EVGA Silverstone Antec Some of those brands are better than others but they will also be more expensive. So take a look at your budget and see what you can get. To find out how much wattage you actually need i personally like this: http://www.enermax.outervision.com/ I would suggest that you take their result and add 100w too it for insurance and upgrade reasons, if you end up with less than 500w after that then just get a 500w supply. The results the calculator gives are not overdone to make you buy a more powerful psu since you will likely be surprised how little you need.
Re: General discussion chat http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...HeLyx15YK3e-D64tybYSEDFpLG22J0saAuL68P8HAQHow bout that one? Nice and cheap. (Just kidding. For the love of god, no one buy it.)
Re: General discussion chat I'm gonna use mechjeb now because orbiting and stuff is a PITA to do every time. It's not as if real astronauts do it manually. I managed to unlock the first four levels of the tech tree on my first mission in career mode. I restarted so mechjeb would work.
Re: General discussion chat I haven't played since they put in missions. I wish I could get back into that game lel.
Re: General discussion chat The website said I need 485w now, but it said I needed 390w before. I'm thinking about buying this 500w EVGA PSU: |Link| It's 80% bronze and I think it's good, since it's EVGA. Because I now know I need 485w minimum, I might consider buying a 600w or 550w PSU.
Re: General discussion chat Well, I fixed my phone today. I took the LCD panel out a few days ago and I was so sure that I cleaned everything spotless before I put it back in.. There's a black speck in between the LCD and digitizer. I cant see it on dark colors, but on bright colors it's really really annoying. I'm tempted to take it apart completely just to get rid of it. I'm thinking of getting the THL T6S which is an Android 4.4 quad core $90 phone. As far as I can see, there's not much bad about it apart from no 4g.
Re: General discussion chat I am going to go on a whim and assume you watch tek syndicate... Otherwise that is quite the timing.
Re: General discussion chat That says 640 for mine. I run under 300w. Your specs need about 300w to be 100% safe, but ~500 is a sweetspot for good brands at cheap prices along with room to spare.
