Define "living wage" There's a dude in the NYC subway system that plays the Didgeridoo and advertises his services at events and the like. "Didgeridoo subway man" is a pretty cool job title IMO... (just youtube "didgeridoo NYC subway" if you want to see videos of him) Street performers can make pretty decent money actually. I imagine it's a great side gig as a supplementary income source.

Maybe the informative rating was abused, but I'm sad that it got removed. I thought it was really useful. Enough to live comfortably.
Well that changes from place to place, and for personal preference. A well off income in the middle of nowhere would be considered poverty in London or NYC. That's one of the upsides to telecommuting and such. You don't need to live in the heart of silicone valley to have a tech job anymore.
