You navigate to where the .exe is (for me, that's "C:\Program Files\Notepad++") Right click "notepad++.exe" Click "Properties" Click on the "Compatibility" tab Check the second to last checkbox "Run this program as an administrator" Click "Apply" Click "OK" Try launching the program now If that doesn't work, restart your PC, and it should work.
