That ship thing is very interesting.I wonder If you can do something like that for a car, put in a centrifugal clutch that lets go of the pulley system when exhaust pressure/flow gets enough(at a certain rpm) to supply the turbo. also please link that thread when you have the time.

Don't ever put a propane tank in the back of a Moonhawk wagon and rear end it with a T75. I did that last night and the physics crashed.

Everything works fine for me, except for Windows itself.
3ds, Illustrator, Firefox, Steam etc. all work, and all games work too.

Tip, if you want to come to a stop as fast as possible don't slam the brakes. If you do, the wheels will lock up and the car will end up sliding instead of stopping. Try to slowly but swiftly brake, but keep the wheels spinning.

I know how to threshold brake, but in a car with ABS there's no use in doing it because ABS (anti-lock braking system) does it for you.
The problem is when the car tries to threshold brake on a slippery surface, and ends up giving you almost no braking power. That's what was happening to me.
I'm also still experimenting with this car's limits. I've never gone this fast and waited that late to brake on that part of the driveway. Well. Now I know how fast I can go through there.
I don't know how fast I was going, but I had the pedal on the floor for a good 5 seconds, and I gave myself about 10 feet to stop. On wet brick. And my sister and a small dog were in the backseat.
    Yeah. I'm professional.

quote alot of reasons to not do it.

Throttle requires electricity. Less drive wheels = less electricity usage.
In low G, all wheels steering can make you flip very easily. On a 4 wheel rover, front steering often works best to avoid rollover. AWS to avoid a flip, chances are the flip was induced by AWS in the first place.
In some environments and on some rovers, too much acceleration can cause backflipping too, less drive wheels can reduce that.

Also potato. ABS cannot fully threshold brake for you, even on dry tarmac standing on the brake is likely to lock the wheels for you. It is an assist, not a 100% solution. In the wet, standing on the brakes is just asking for trouble, you still threshold brake, hell ABS in the wet *INCREASES* stopping distances over non ABS vehicles with proper threshold braking applied.

    Yeah I know.
ABS nowadays is pretty damn good. A correctly functioning module won't let wheels lock for any more than an instant on dry tarmac. That being said, in some situations, just an instant of wheel lock can cause a whole lot of problems.
And, on the wet, its kinda hard to win with abs. It's hard to maintain threshold braking on wet surfaces, and if you get a bit of lock, abs activates and throws you off. I bet you can bring a car without abs to a stop quicker on wet pavement than you can a car with it.
What you're saying up there is exactly what I was saying. I shouldn't have said I "slid" though the grass and into a flowerbed in my post, because I didn't actually slide. Felt a helluva lot like sliding though. Anyway, abs was trying to maintain threshold braking on the slippery bricks, thus stealing all of my pressure from the wheels.
No real harm done though. I only went a few feet into the flowerbed. Managed to miss all of the small plants on the ground, and came to a stop with the bumper pushed up against a bush. I did have to cover up some tracks I left in the mulch though.

Somehow my truck didn't even slide when I slammed the brakes in the pouring rain. I thought I was gonna slam into the rear end of the car ahead of me at 45 mph, but somehow my truck managed to stop instantly. For a 14 year old truck with rather old brakes, it sure knows how to stop.

There is a dickerson road in a town called Gaylord in Michigan. I found that hilariously funny when I received a parcel from there.
