More interested in the old school tractor in the background.

Whats behind that? Otherwise we'll be going on forever with people interested in whats behind the thing in the background of each image.

The tractor's interesting to me only because when they were trying to start it last year, they used sawdust to soak up the gas leaking from the carburetor. They tried to start it, and there was quite the fireball. No damage or injuries, but it definitely made that day more interesting. Behind the tractor, there's a wall.

Grass. Then a road. Then a field. Then a housing development. There, that's a mile-ish. I think that's far enough.

some have said that he eats horses for breakfast to have horsepower, we've also heard that he's stuck smiling under that helmet of his

all we know is: HE'S CALLED THE STIG

seriously though who knows if he's ever been happy or not, we can't see his emotions

for all we know he might not even have a face

They had it acid dipped (I think) to remove the rust, then cut out the trunk floor due to rust damage. They got a new floor and trunk floor, the main floors installed. No idea what they're gonna do with it. At the very least, I hope it's done decently.

    Re: General discussion chat

So, back in summer 2013 I bought an old Tecumseh 8 horse off Craigslist. Originally from a ~70s Airens snowblower. Today I cleaned out all the crap from the garage so I had room to start working on it again. (Haven't touched it in over a year.)

http://imgur.com/a/o8U7Y -Pics from today after cleaning garage. Can now fit both the mower and my trailer in there instead of just barely getting the mower in there.
http://imgur.com/a/6ZJYk -Pics from last year after I started working on it.

So today I sanded the points and set them right and finally got spark. For some reason I couldn't get it to last year. Then I poured a bit of oil down the spark plug hole and used a dog leash as a pull cord to start it. It fired a few times and stopped. Still had the ~20+ year old oil in it. (After this I found the piece I needed for the normal pull start to work.)

I'll start work on the carb and stuff tomorrow. (No school.)

    Re: General discussion chat

Came out of the college I go to, which is 35 minutes away from home, to a flat tire on my car. Another couple people from my class offered to help out so that was cool.

I had a spare and went to put that on, but the jack the car came with collapsed before it lifted the car (I probably used it wrong or something) so we had to use my friend's jack. After all that bullshitting around we got the wheel in the air, and couldn't get it off. We tried hammering on it but that didn't work so we set it down with just a few lug nuts threaded on a bit and cranked the wheel to the side and it popped off.

So that was shitty, but most of the horrible vibrations my car had must have been coming from that wheel as they're gone now. woo.

Getting new tires asap, they're all ruined anyway lol

The 5lb one is the one YouTube's tend to have, which is around $20, the one I linked is 26lb which is far bigger

Also most of vats products have a 1 year shelf life so they may just be using the same one over and over

Loosen the nuts while the wheel is still on the ground, not fully, just loosen em a bit.
If they are stuck, don't whack the tool. Sharp impacts round the nuts off. You want slow steady pressure.

Oh, not so useful in your case but if you are working under a car without axle stands, spare wheelwheel *might* do the trick but I'd still advise investing in them.

You can also get small trolley jacks pretty cheap sometimes, often work better than the jack in the boot.
