hence why i said "Most" people can't use more than 2gb of ram

    you are not most people

also that's strange that minecraft is using so much ram for you

my minecraft at stock barley uses 1.5gb, let alone 2.1gb

if that was referring to minecraft being more cpu & gpu intensive, it in general is

Just saw a 2000-2004 Mercury Sable on its side off the road in the woods. Looks like someone tried to drift the corner and couldn't get the handbrake to release in time.

Force 3D clocks in CCC. That guy that got ejected from the Alabama-Missouri game deserved it 100%.

It's fine, actually. An exhaust fan has a bad bearing or something, but it's fine. Loads of life left.
    Even more so afterChristmas, hopefully.

"For a cable that is literally one foot long, the excessive packaging and limited working time of said cable is deplorable and absolutely stunning. Not only does this wire work for such a short amount of time, the products it works with (Mainly TurtleBeach,) have been absolutely and disturbingly bad for the price range. I would not and will not recommend this wire, nor its adjoining products to anyone, ever."
Sums up my experience with Turtle Beach pretty well.

Because Minecraft is terribly inconsistent. Two almost identical builds can get drastically different performance on Minecraft. That's why people don't benchmark using Minecraft.

MFW I spend a long time using an old netbook and my old 20 inch monitor to make an all in one PC and I turn it on to see that the screen is broken.

I guess I could just stick it on the back of my second screen (Also 20 inches) as a second input. And do something with it..

thats plenty useable, you want unsuable?

late 07 polycarbonate macbook with broken screen, one very tiny corner of the screen still showing whats happening

    THATS unusable

your screen? still plenty useable for web browsing and writing documents and stuff (even a little youtube as well, just not full-screen)

a netbook isn't going to be doing any gaming, so no reason to worry about that

Yeah, but it's enough that I won't use it at all. My old laptop screen had dark blemishes all over it, which was enough to make me pay 100 bucks for a new one.

I'll find another screen to stick it on (Could use my old 4:3 but I'd prefer not to) or put it onto my second screen. Only problem is that if I do that, what would I really use it for?

Most I got my minecraft to use is 5GB out of 6 allocated. I can't do more or my machine crashes. I think that the auto pruning it does keeps it that low because if I allocate 2GB it works at the same FPS. I think if I had 16GB it would use over 12.

Also, fps was about 30. If I looked at the ground my fps went to over 115. I'm so glad they are moving to shaders with 1.9. It'll probably be next spring but it'll be much more efficient.

Minecraft is flat out not that demanding, except needing a bit of ram, but that makes sense considering it has to keep track of upto 65536 blocks per chunk. Same issue as beamng, a lot of data to process there which exponentially increases with render distance.

With optifine, 1.6 achieved over 100fps at far render on my athlon 2 x3 at 3.4 GHz coupled with gtx460 GPU. Runs fine normal render on my 1.8ghz dual core laptop, 60 fps.

Oh, Minecraft uses two or three threads (seems to be conflict over how many and I CBA to reverse engineer it to find out myself) , although 2 are very minor in relation to the first and don't really need their own core like a BeamNG vehicle.

Here's how I like to describe Minecraft performance.

A toaster can run Minecraft. It just has to be well balanced one.

Minecraft tends to favor certain hardware setups for seemingly no reason at all. A lot of the higher end Nvidia GPUs get 500+ FPS, while high end equivalent AMDs would get around 170. This really has no reason to happen on a game that basic. Not like it matters that much in vanilla, but you have to consider this if you want to play modded/shaders.
