Re: General discussion chat Yeah, the speed of an SSD is great! I'm transferring my files back onto may HDD now and I don't even notice it, OS wise, there's no interference because it's a separate drive and it's fast. My computer is also much faster than it was with the HDD, even while the computer was at a bare-bones state.
Re: General discussion chat Yeah, manufactures overcompensated in 2010-2011 because they though smartphone storage would increase by a lot. They overbuilt and are just now turning production to other stuff. They'll keep getting cheaper for a while and then they will probably go back up. The 850 EVO with 3bit TLC is coming out soonish. It'll be 550/520+
Re: General discussion chat An ssd is a tempting prospect. Im running a 1tb hitachi desktar 7k2000 with 30gb left. To be honest though the computer really isn't slow at booting up, its just not quick. I guess the best thing about not owning an ssd is that i have never used a computer with an ssd so i never feel as if i am waiting forever for things since that's usual. But maybe a 256gb one might be nice, i guess i need to look into how good the operating system migration software is. I wonder how difficult it would be to get an ssd and install windows 10 on it when that is released (for dx12) and then remove windows 7 from the hard drive and then use the computer like that.
Re: General discussion chat when a 1tb ssd costs the same as a 1tb hdd, i'll gladly consider an ssd until then, HDD MASTER RACE
Re: General discussion chat Pizza Hut in Austrailia just made the Dorito crust. Currently packing my bags. Going to move to Austrailia. They have so much to offer.
Re: General discussion chat I'd much rather wait until SSDs cost the same as HDDs cost (currently) per GB. I don't mind waiting either. I have no idea what it is like to use a computer with an SSD, so I've not yet been tainted by the necessity for such a drive.
Re: General discussion chat Imagine playing Russian Roulette but with successful OS boots. That's what it's like having an SSD.
Re: General discussion chat taco bell in america makes tacos using shells made out of doritos i've had one in nacho cheese flavor before, it was actually pretty good btw there's only one i in Australia
Re: General discussion chat Based on the nature of the two drives, I think that they won't become equal in that area. I expect SSDs to have far superior speed but with inferior storage space and the inverse with HDDs for a long time; at the same price point anyway. Pretty much I expect the situation to remain very similar to how it is now.
Re: General discussion chat i want real life, but as a video game would be freaking amazing, and my GOTY for forever
Re: General discussion chat That sounds easier that it is. No Taco Bell thousands of kilometers around.
Re: General discussion chat I have also never had a taco. I would like to try one but i have yet to find anywhere where i can buy one in the UK. Never mind a vegetarian one. Need to make my own and fill with Quorn and salsa etc.
Re: General discussion chat Tacos look and seem disgusting so I'm certainly not missing out myself. If real life was a game then everything would be just the same. You'd be born, have to do good in school, apply for jobs, etc. The only cool stuff would come when you're old enough in the game to do them. It'd be like a game where you have to play 25 years just before you get the good content, so there'd be absolutely no point.
Re: General discussion chat I'd eat taco bell every day if I could afford to. one of the few franchises that carry mountain dew as well
