Out of budget and no longer available, but my Xperia M was only £190 with an 8gb SD. Its hardly a flagship specced phone, but I'm happy with it, don't have to spend alot for a solid android handset.

Although anything nokia is good and I do like the windows phone OS. Either 630 or 530 should be good choices.

How much is the 270? There's absolutely no difference other than clock speed, and I overclocked my 270 to 1050 MHz with no problem.

Android seems to be very demanding for hardware. WP works perfectly fine on a low-end phone like a 520, but Android stutters and lags on phones with similar hardware.
I'd probably go with the 530 since I don't use my phone for much other than music and web browsing. For some reason it's not available in black, only good colour for a phone IMO.

My desk is tiny and there is currently a monitor in the way.
I'm getting a new desk for Christmas so I should be able to fit everything!

    Crappy image incoming!

It is a really nice keyboard, using a mitsumi hybrid switch; rubber dome with springs! Perfect for typing.

Moto G (2014). Good luck getting better for the money. Most people who i know buy a Windows phone because they like the look of the user interface, after a while they then realize that there are no legit applications available and begin to hate the devices. Apple is a tad bit out of your budget and i would probably recommend a moto G over a new iPhone anyway because i am biased like that.

I wouldn't take an iphone for free :|
I know there aren't too many apps for WP, but I only use music/browser and a game or two.

You would love my keyboard :D
Rubber dome and from 1998. This thing is old and discolored, it is also still fully functional. All in all pretty good for a keyboard that came free with a computer.

Yeah, but dude, Moto G : £150 Quad core snapdragon CPU, 720p screen, stereo speakers. That phone is legit, one of my friends has the gen 1 version and it is pretty fantastic, the gen 2 completely one ups it. It makes (most) other phones in a similar price bracket completely irrelivent.

It has the same CPU as the 630 and a better screen. I'm not sure about the physical size though, 5" screens are a bit too big. I like smaller phones, the S2 has a 4.2" and it's perfect. The 630 has a 4.5" screen and I don't want to go bigger than that.
The non removable battery bugs me too.

And WP allows me to create apps in Visual Studio using .NET and the visual UI editor, which is fun when I'm bored...

If I used lots of apps or games I'd go straight for Android, but since I only use a few things I don't even need it.

Just one thing: Skyrim did get a bit unstable when I overclocked to 1050, although it was fine when I went to 1010 and had no problems with memory overclocking. Every other game was just fine though. Temperatures are fine as well, nothing the cooler can't handle (in fact it just heats up like a 270X). Remember to increase power draw as well by ~8% if you OC.

You think that's old? I've got an IBM model M keyboard, 1987. Still works.

It's missing 2 keycaps, couldn't find them. But other than that it's in perfect condition. The clicking noise is awesome.

Why would you even have a wallpaper if it's covered in icons anyway?
