Re: General discussion chat Ah nice, i have one. But i dont like the 7.1 option cause its just digital edited by the software that comes with it. Using it as a normal Stereo headset, has nice bass, highs and the mic does his job very well. To listen to music in high quality its fine and skyping with friends also, they´ll love your sound quality while they use 5€ mics that bring your ears to cry lol. Oh and a bit late but anyways, Happy new year
Re: General discussion chat I love this little thing already. Need to get an SD card for it though. USB port surprised me, usually they barely supply any current, my external hard drive runs from it just fine though
Re: General discussion chat Asks HACN between Mclaren F1, Ferrari Enzo and a Maloo.... turned out like this:
Re: General discussion chat I have ordered a 64gb kingston micro sdxc for mine. They claim it should do 90mb/s read speeds yet it costs the same as a 45mb/s card from other brands. So i am looking forward to seeing if their claims hold true, while i dont expect to get the full speeds from it on this device it should be very interesting to see just how fast that card combined with this tablet will go.
Re: General discussion chat We don't all pretend to be millionaires. - - - Updated - - - *officially* mine wont take 64gb. I'm sure it will though. I dont have the money to buy one and then find it doesnt work though. going with a 32gb PNY microSDHC for mine, that is if tesco dont have any decent cards at a decent price.
Re: General discussion chat I have no idea what mine is rated to take. But if it doesnt then i will put the 64gb one in my phone and put the 32gb one from my phone in my tablet. But a lot of devices say that they only support up to 32gb but in reality will actually take anything you throw at them. Maybe there is some technical reason, i have no idea though.
Re: General discussion chat Its branding. The SD standard isnt free and open source (well, its free to use the basic SPI driver mode - dead slow and mark something as SD compatible), you have to pay licensing to use SD tech. SDXC costs more than SDHC to license and yet is hardware compatible. Some companies have genuinely software locked their SDHC devices to 32gb storage capacities, some really old SDHC controllers genuinely dont understand the increased capacity of SDXC, most companies just use SDXC and slap an SDHC badge on the box.
Re: General discussion chat I'll use 7.1 in games that natively support it. If I wanted just a stereo headset I would've bought a G230 for half the price :|
Re: General discussion chat It has two speakers. Therefore it is a stereo headset. It will have virtual 7.1 technology, in essence its just applying reverb to make it sound more like a surround speaker config. My advice is to buy a good stereo headset without any of the 7.1 crap. Its just marketing since the games you play will do the same thing themselves. Generally you are better off getting a quality pair of headphones (music headphones, not gaming ones) and a really cheap dollar store microphone to use with them. That way you will get a microphone of around equal quality to a gaming set as well as a much better pair of headphones. There is a reason why people dont mix music on gaming headphones. Its the same reason that many competitive gamers will wear IEM's underneath their sponsored gaming headphones.
Re: General discussion chat what about the pigeon? i'd imagine that'd simulate a bit easier then the d15
Re: General discussion chat Best headphones I've used are stock Galaxy S2. This is much better. Reason I bought these: I didn't want to get into headphones too much since I barely know anything about audio so I'd have no idea what to buy. Virtual 7.1 support is much better than plain stereo, and the games won't do it themselves if the headphones themselves don't support it (G230 doesn't for example). I did look at a few music headphones, some from the headphones thread, but then I realised I had no idea what I was even looking at so comparing is pointless. Also, any pair of headphones much better than these would quickly get bottlenecked by onboard sound and no, I'm not buying a sound card. I'm no audio expert nor do I wish to be, this is a billion times better than my shitty speakers and that's enough.
Re: General discussion chat Lel gotta love photoshop. (imported from here) (Yes the car is not in the correct era i already know that)
Re: General discussion chat you're telling me? Also, new speakers came in and I think I am fully satisfied with my setup (yeah, i could try to find some better monitors and a mechanical keyboard, but i don't really need those):
Re: General discussion chat To be honest, modern on board audio is actually pretty decent. You will likely struggle to hear any issues with it unless you get high impedance headphones that require more power to drive. Once upon a time the headphones that were included with my galaxy s2 were the best i had ever heard. But then i took music technology as one of my options at school and i got to hear headphones such as the dt100 which were pretty nice despite the school not having anything capable of powering them. Needless to say i am now pretty into audio and it almost physically hurts me when people say the best they have heard are the earbuds they got free with x device etc. I almost feel the need to apologise to them and give them a hug for the traumatising experiences they have had You can get very decent audio for £40 these days in pretty much any head mounted form factor (in short, not speakers). Its like saying that the best image quality you have ever seen is from a cheap pink 15" own brand supermarket tv that also has a dvd player bolted onto the back of it. Theatres spend more money on audio than they do on visuals. That is not because the CEO has shares, its because it makes such a huge difference to the experience and is now one of the main reasons for going there instead of watching it at home. You totally have a point about it being difficult to figure out what to buy. Its the industry where specifications mean naff all and marketing seems to prevail with beats being apple of the industry (quite literally recently). Headfi have a pretty good Christmas guide that they put together every year which lists decent quality headphones, while the list is not exclusive and there are many pairs that are really good that don't make it on it is a really good place to look at. http://www.head-fi.org/a/head-fi-buying-guide-introduction I just typed this on a touchscreen. The sacrifices i make for you guys.
Re: General discussion chat Oh God, the Buzzfeed comments. The school lunch video. ROFL. My school lunch makes McD's or anything on a similar like Serendipity3. You need to take a napkin to the "pizza" to get the grease off of it. Is Michelle trying to kill us?
