Re: General discussion chat My school just made a new rule to where you can't have your phones out without a teacher's permission. There is a huge rebellion right now. Too bad my phone can't do anything. If you are at lunch, and you need to text to talk to someone across the cafeteria, how do you do that? It's supposedly only for educational purposes, but what do you do when you have a lunch break or something? It seems like it is going to be to where if I get caught on the forums I'll be suspended or some shit. How fun. They were thinking on banning music, but if they did that, they would have to face me about to blow up. I need music. I have 2 pairs of headphones I bring and like 5 huge Spotify playlists for a reason. I also bought my laptop for a reason. WTF?

Re: General discussion chat Haha you're complaining about that. If a teacher, administrator, or any staff so as much see our phones they get taken away and our parents have to come pick them up. Even if it is off and falls out of your backpack a teacher can take it. Once you get it taken twice you get an in-school suspension.

Re: General discussion chat i just read your sig lolwut it's words on a forum, they aren't going to hurt you :/ (perhaps you've never heard of this "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me") also ignoring them isn't going to magically make the forums any better, if anything it'll make the forums worse, because someone could ask a question, it get's answered by someone they ignore, because everyone else see's it's already answered, they won't, then the person who asked the question will ask again because they have the person who answered ignored and wouldn't have seen it answered also could cause lots of spam from everyone having lots of people in their ignore list, so lots of people could ask questions, get a bunch of answers but because ignore lists they wouldn't see it, and they'd ask again thinking no one saw it

Re: General discussion chat Our school has gone the opposite way. They now have the "ipads for learning" scheme where every student has to have a tablet in school with them. Can barely walk down corridors now because year 7's line the edges of them playing multiplayer ipad games. The school is ok with them playing games but would rather they don't play multiplayer ones because the network has struggled due to that occasionally. My year group (y13/ upper sixth) are the last year group to not require a tablet. I use my Windows tablet at school anyway. Sadly i cannot connect it to the wifi because they do not allow windows devices to connect. So i don't use school wifi at all on my personal devices since you have to install spyware in order to gain access to it (cisco meraki management software). In lower school you may be allowed to listen to music or use your phone in lesson depending on the teacher. In sixth form the rules are way more relaxed, they also relax the web filtering as well in sixth form. So its not too bad. VPN's are not allowed but many students use them anyway.
Re: General discussion chat About the school thing, I'm not complaining too much. But the automatic rule after yesterday killed us. And now they have banned music without permission. I need music. I bring 2 pairs of headphones every day because. Now, I make a joke every time I touch them I get suspended. It's funny. But I'm pissed about the no headphones thing.
