Re: General discussion chat There's only like 5 screws holding $400 worth of equipment in my rig. I think it's time I fix that. Maybe some semi-professional cable management too, instead of just shoving it in the hard drive cage.

Re: General discussion chat We have not had any snow since Thanksgiving. We had 3" about 3 weeks ago. Last night we got 9". So, we could have 45" of snow on the ground by Wednesday.
Re: General discussion chat That's crazy. We don't see that type of snow around here really. Last year we got about a foot and a half at once, but that's about the most I can ever remember.

Re: General discussion chat There has been snow around here. Not much though. According to the weather forecast we should be getting more this week. Im looking forward to it. One thing i have noticed throughout school is how students have changed over the past 12 or so years, even in the past 2 years snowball fights have all but stopped at bus stops and students no longer throw snowballs at passing buses etc. Its kinda interesting to see how things have changed from students doing stupid stuff (Like above) to being completely absent minded. If i am walking down a corridoor carrying a (school) mac book pro with tablet and chargers balanced on top, please have the decency to not walk into me because you are too busy playing games on your ipad. Combine that with trying not to trip over the legs of the students sat at the side of corridors with their legs out in the center its just making it even more of an obstacle course. I would have been more than happy to see that mac smash against the floor due to the stupid design choices that apple made combined with windows xp. But not while i am carrying it, luckily they are quite small, meaning they have less momentum than me Oh, and i manged to last 2 days without even checking any threads. I may start posting less from now on, im not sure. I <3 most of you to much to leave
Re: General discussion chat You can see a massive difference when writing from RAM vs the HDD. I'm copying my bng from the old HDD and it was about 110MB/s for a while when dropped to about 20.
