Re: General discussion chat Well it seems a *HUGE* swathe of people have had failure on slot B for the gigabyte board I was looking at. Can't afford ASUS. Not without dropping to an h81 chipset which no doubt will puke on haswell refresh and only has PCIe 2.0
Re: General discussion chat Got my new 750w PSU. Put it in my PC and rewired it all. Ready for second GPU now. Seller didn't ship the GPU until this morning. D: Also got my OEM Dell backlit keyboard for my M4400 since the old one was some cheap reproduction. The OEM one feels a lot nicer. (Even the pointing stick feels nicer.) Also it started to snow awhile ago. - - - Updated - - - My current board is a Gigabyte and I like it a lot better than my old MSI. (This is AMD.)
Re: General discussion chat I really wish that scs games would make another rally sim. There hasn't been one in ages.
Re: General discussion chat Yeah I've got a Gigabyte board, they're good, seemingly reliable and don't have a giant advertivement as a POST screen. BIOS is crap though, lacks proper fan control (silent, normal, full), menu descriptions don't fit in the text box, and frequently resets settings as you are skimming through the BIOS. If you get one and don't plan to overclock or do anything involving the BIOS you'll enjoy it but as far as I can see my GB board and a friend's have the worst BIOS ui layout possible
Re: General discussion chat Stupid adobe patcher doesn't work when your trial has expired. But, fuck you Adobe, I have a plan B. Create a small partition, install Win 8.1 (for which I have a crap ton of school-provided licenses), install illustrator cc and patch before trial expires. Inconvenient? Yes. Adobe got rekt? Yes. I do want to buy it though, to save me all this trouble. But I can't afford it yet.
Re: General discussion chat Yeah, I hate the fan control. I just run all my fans at max speed except for one extra loud fan that I use a little fan controller for. It's a pretty good overclocker IMO. (I'm able to get up to 4.8GHz stable. Requires a lotta volts though.)
Re: General discussion chat Coffee maker just shit the bed. It won't let the brewed coffee out of the basket. How fun, ground soup. Time to investigate, Krups support pls healp. - - - Updated - - - EDIT: apparently like 20 amazon reviews state this problem. how fun. time for a new coffee maker that i dont have money for yay. no coffee and its my addiction.
Re: General discussion chat Coffee makers are all shit. Why not just get a coffee press and make it that way? It wont cost crazy amounts either and its no harder to do...
Re: General discussion chat Yeah, why not. But I like just flipping a switch in my brain-dead mornings. I also like not having to boil water. My stove takes about 7 minutes to boil a tiny pot of water. My coffee maker used to go through a whole pot in that same time.
Re: General discussion chat We have a coffee maker. Stepdad isnt fussy and doesnt mind using it. Brother thinks its just as quick to do it himself and he does it better.
Re: General discussion chat I don't have an electric kettle. Instead got one that you sit on the stove, doesnt take long to boil.
Re: General discussion chat IDK, they don't really sell them around here. I've never seen one in my life besides TV.
Re: General discussion chat but you get to be an elegant brit as you carefully pour the water into a cup (imported from here)
Re: General discussion chat what the literal fuck is wrong with you fgt? keurig is like the apple of coffee, too boring and just underinnovating.
