Re: General discussion chat Yes, but my backup laptop is a Latitude D610. That is the computer that cemented my love of the Latitude line of laptops, man.
Re: General discussion chat And I'm here like "I need a laptop" and then oh look a GTX 970! Wantwantwantwant I'm probably gonna get a used laptop with either a 3rd gen C2D or a first gen i5. After I have my 970 of course. I really like 2009-2010 laptops. Older ones are too bulky, newer ones are too thin and fragile.
Re: General discussion chat Yes, I agree with all of this. The Dell Latitude E4200/E4300 is really the perfect ultrabook for me. (And I own both!) I also love my Precision M4400 but it could use a better/more efficient GPU which is why I want an M4500. (Better GPU, first gen i5/i7.) Also these things are dirt cheap on eBay because used.
Re: General discussion chat Dammit. My windows is bork D: It shut itself down during installation. I looked at the screen, and it was on the last step and almost finished. I got distracted for a few minutes and when I looked back the computer had shut itself off. It randomly shuts down when it's booting up now. I have to turn the psu off for a minute or two to get it to start back up. Ran windows repair off the disk and it found some problems. Couldn't help me with them though. :| I guess I'll try reinstalling it?
Re: General discussion chat Windows shuts down near the end of installation, then you have to boot up from the hard drive rather than the installation disk.
Re: General discussion chat It was booting from the hard drive, but it shuts itself down when it's starting windows. I went into bios and forced it to boot from the windows disk to see what would happen. It just told me that I had a problem and I'm screwed.
Re: General discussion chat If I see a computer on the side of the road, I will take it, strip it for parts (mostly cables), and put the beige case by the side of the road for the local scrappers to pick it up in the night. I now have an extensive collection of old parts (every CPU under the sun - Athlon64, Pentium III, i486 SX, Celerons, Centrinos, Durons, Semprons, etc. Just nothing new.), way too many IDE cables, a few crappy SATA cables, a bunch of disk drives, a few floppy drives, a bunch of old fans, a lot of PSU cabling (this is genuinely useful) and a lot of old DDR and DDR2 ram. I could built about 4 computers out of this mess.
Re: General discussion chat sadly for me, my city i think has made it illegal to put computers on the curb. so i dont get any of those finds. i just goto a goodwill with a computer store that has old laptops that they say dont work, but do. or i ask them if they have any old desktops i could look at. I volunteered last summer and now starting again, which allows me to ask them because they know me. i have 55ish computers, mostly from there and i got almost all of them under $10. anyone want a list of them ?
Re: General discussion chat I've found a bunch of gems by the roadside. I've found a pristine iMac G3, I took it home and cleaned it up, added some RAM and sold it for $80 to an Apple enthusiast. A few months later I see another iMac G3 a ways away, so I take that, and it's already upgraded, so I sell it on the internet for $80, and I had people offering me 150 because it's a rare colour and it's rare to have the original keyboard and mouse too. Unfortunately it's winter now, and there's no iMacs under the 2 feet of snow here.
Re: General discussion chat where the hell do you live where they just throw computers out on the side of the road? I'd totally collect them if I ever saw such a thing! I still consider dumpster diving (of course, not in a private area where I would be trespassing), because after finding the projector, 2 hp elitebook 2740p laptops (i still need a charger for those), and an iphone 4s, I find it to be quite the exciting activity. (imported from here) also htc please fix your cameras on your one phones please
Re: General discussion chat pics of mine(i need to paint my walls, the paint on them is from when i was 10 i think)
Re: General discussion chat I don't get it, my connection is getting worse. It's been a month and I still can't pinpoint the problem. Why is it doing this to me?
Re: General discussion chat I wen't Go-Kart racing today, Very fun, Might go Go-Kart racing competitions in the future P.S: Why the hell did someone add this to my Signature My not so great specs. GPU: AMD Radeon HD Series 5400 CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor 3.40GHZ RAM/Memory: 3.25GB RAM OS: 64-BIT Windows 7 Home premium i love to eat dick Sorry if it seems offensive but that was randomly in my sig, AND My occupation and interests thing on my profile, I DID Not Type any of it in It was just there. I have removed them, but why did it even happen?, Did some dev or admin Misbehave?
Re: General discussion chat That would be extremely inappropriate if they did, which I can almost guarantee they did not. Either it was you and you're lying, a family member with access to your computer or you are using a weak and or easy to guess password.
Re: General discussion chat WHHHHYYYY MEEEEE i just opened a dvd player you hook up to a tv. and found a effing chicken bone inside. EWWWW
