Instead of trying to make my 8 key work on 8.1 (Which it doesn't for whatever reason) or reverting to 7 when my new CPU arrives I spent $20 on a 8.1 Pro key in /r/softwareswap. Downloading it now :D

CPU should be here tomorrow and hopefully all goes well.

That will be because you've already used the 8 key... They are single use (well, unless you buy a 3 or 5 use key of course)

Same here now, just getting it. Took long enough :p

Looks like you use a different system over there, here we lay down 24-way and have one lat for two houses(Goes to the middle of the two sections). I used to lay fibre as a job, it really sucked big time. That's exactly why I quit.

It's because of the conversions! You should be careful.

    (jk I love your work)

This is what they do here:

    10505625_568104863299667_3443123360833265978_n.jpg

All the cables are hidden down there, and then there are individual cables for each house. (The photo was taken this Saturday, we're so close!!!!!)

I think I have to use a new service from the same provider. I have basically 2/0.6 with 80 ping and a weird-ass download on speedtest (it stays at 0 and jumps up to 2 at the end) I will be getting 30/something soon!

O god, I feel bad for you people with such poor internets (good thing some of you are getting upgraded lines etc whew!!) I have never felt such pain as 0.6 upload or 2 download. Its always been blazingly fast. And it's part of a triple-play bundle...Phone, Internet and TV service (with all the packages/On Demand/DVR) for like, 199 per month or something. And if a hurricane or storm takes out service, it's usually back up within an hour. Pretty nice living in such a cramped area (Long Island is terribly over populated, but has good services, such as cable/cell service etc). Be jealous :p

Keeping in mind that this is a very good day:
    3638585758.png
BT are the only service provider. It is an ADSL connection which is only intended for 2 or 3 miles of service from the last exchange. According to BT we are somewhere between 7 and 9 miles and only get a signal at all because there are few people using the line.

Yesterday (which as my connection goes was a bad day) it took me 15 minutes to download avrdude. Some of you guys, 15 minutes is probably a 1gb file or something. avrdude is less than 200kb.

I'm happy with our internet. 25-30MBPs. (Still jealous of dat fiber tho.)

CPU out for delivery. I CANNOT WAIT. AGH.

Aw yiss. Set it up and after I turned RAID on it just booted into Windows 8 with no problems. I'm updating to 8.1 right now.

I really don't like how it jumps from 1.4GHz to 4GHz though. I'll have to disable turbo and power saving crap before I get my overclock on. :D

Because it doesn't need to. Plus after I restarted it failed to boot because for some reason it was running at turbo speed. (4GHz)

    - - - Updated - - -

Well, updating from 8 caused the same problem so I just did a clean install of 8.1 and it's working perfectly.

I get a 50 Mb/s connection but its drowned out through it being wireless.
also to the person having size issues with your case, if you're able to just get a new one for cheap. The conversion is easy if you know what you're doing and having a bigger case is really the only part about your computer that you can future proof. based off of that picture you have. this is what your computer would most likely look like in a new case: http://imgur.com/a/xPRpB
(i know the cables are a mess, its a non-modular psu sadly.)

I hate that I have to fucking remove pieces of plastic to get to the battery on my grandmother's lexis.
Battery went dead when it was in the garage. Had to roll it out then jump it with the rx.
