Re: General discussion chat you are now the president of the internet for a few minutes for having some good taste
Re: General discussion chat I'm seriously considering telling my dad that he can do whatever the hell he wants with the highlander. That car...it's just so boring. I want something cooler, like a police package crown Vic or something.
Re: General discussion chat Created a new intro: Thanks Juju for letting me use your music. Please tell me what you think about it
Re: General discussion chat I am rather annoyed, I recognize a certain part of a song in an advert but can't think of what it is! And I can't even use SoundHound or Shazam because the woman is talking over it, can anyone identify the song?
Re: General discussion chat Depending on what you call pricy the r9 260x and r9 270 non-x are some of the best budget cards. 270 non x even more so. You also might could find a used 7950 for less than $200 on eBay.
Re: General discussion chat if you have an android phone, or the Google Now IOS app, you can open the google app on android, or the google now app on ios, and say "Ok Google" then say "What's this Song"
Re: General discussion chat Going to band camp for a week and may or may not have cell reception. FYI, I am going to where Bob Evans apparently gets their food. (Rio Grande; not the vacation spot)
Re: General discussion chat Well. Scratch the gpu thing. For now. Dad just called and told me to shop for computers. He won't let me built one. :| I'm actually pretty pissed off right now. - - - Updated - - - 95% of the preassembled computers that bestbuy has are hp, dell, or acer. :| Also where do you guys recommend to ship for parts. Isn't newegg pretty good?
Re: General discussion chat i can vouch for lenovo's price to quality and performance if your unable to get your dad to let you build (i got my pc for $300, while some other place (say HP for example) would probably charge around $700) building is still the best option if you can get your dad to let you though (i would have built myself, but i actually had the same problem as you, parents would not let me)
Re: General discussion chat I use newegg, amazon, and microcenter. Here is the thing, most people that don't want to let you build are worried about warranties or cost. I mean, it makes sence to a point. Most people are scared of computers. A solution is to buy a cheap dell prebuilts that's a reasonable size. (4790k with integrated and a mid tower case) and them upgrade the GPU and PSU for a lower cost. Have fun. I finished my two weeks a wee ago. I'm still sunburned.
Re: General discussion chat This is a pretty nice computer. i7-4790s GTX750 950 bucks. The only other computer I've seen that's close to this one is an i5 with integrated graphics,
Re: General discussion chat The s processors are actually usually more from what I've seen. Maybe look for optiplexes. They have better coolers and better power supplies. I saw one with a 4770 (probably a 4790 now), room for a full ATX PSU, and a 1TB HDD for $700. Add in a 7970 and 500w PSU for a total of $250 and you've got a killer machine for $950
Re: General discussion chat I would kill myself if I got signed up for band camp. Dad doesn't wanna spend more than 500 on a new, prebuilt computer. He isn't really giving me very good options here. He did agree, however, to let me see what I could do with his price range if we build. It's a start.
Re: General discussion chat Being in a marching band is one of the best decisions I've made in my high school career. I went from having almost no friends and being really awkward to having 120 people who have my back. It is gonna end as soon as I go to collage though, damn being a clarinet!
Re: General discussion chat Point him towards a very expensive Alienware. Then tell him how much cheaper it would be to just build a computer that's as good or better yourself.
