Re: General discussion chat mmmmm.... well I understand what you mean. Not sure what to do thou, I guess you might just have to wait, but If you got the $ I'm not sure why he would stop you. Just tell him it's crystal meth or automotive. lol Don't give up tho, he'll budge. Get him drunk then ask him, thats how I get cash from my dad.
Re: General discussion chat I just keep money that I make. I don't spend it as soon as I get it. At first I agreed that these cushmans are expensive, but as far as little vehicles go (gators, golf carts) they're actually pretty cheap. About the cheapest utv around. I have plenty of money to buy an actual car, but I can't go driving it around. That's extremely illegal, but driving a little no so street legal vehicle around the neighborhood and empty rural roads isn't as illegal. Cushmans are like little cars. And I want a car so bad. - - - Updated - - - Lol crystal meth or automotive. Id never spend 1500 bucks on something like this. I wouldn't spend more than 700 on one. I have to buy a car soon, ya know. Like if I can't just trade the tractor for it or trade the tractor and pay some money I wouldn't buy it. I just couldn't bring myself to pay 1500 bucks for something that, honestly, is pretty useless. Unless I had a bunch of money. I'd have a collection of these things. And suburbans. And m1008s. And a crown Vic or 2. and he remains retry level headed when he's drunk so I don't think that'll work lol
Re: General discussion chat Damn, I swear people from Kentucky and Tennessee are immune to alcohol. mmmmm.... oh wait get your dad the crystal meth, he'll say yes to anything.
Re: General discussion chat Is it just me waiting like crazy for multi-dae support? I think we're gonna see a ton of new mods now that modding will be easier.
Re: General discussion chat Yes, I'm looking forward to it a lot too. It will make having multiple trim levels/tuning parts easier, seeing as the models wont all be cluttered in the one file.
Re: General discussion chat Well as far as cars go for me i cant see there being a car in my life for quite a while. I have been 17 for over 8 months now and still haven't even got round to doing any driving tests. Once i get round to that and pass my tests i still wont be getting a car and i cant see myself getting one any time soon. For me at least it makes no sense to own one what so ever. One thing i certainly know is my parents wouldn't buy me a car, if i wanted one i would have to earn it myself. The current cost of transport for me is £300 ($500) a year to get a bus to school. Other than that i do not leave my house, ever. Lets say for example i got a really slow economical car. The insurance would cost about £1600 ($2700) a year or around £1200 ($2000) if i have a tracking box installed in the dashboard. Fuel is about £1.30 ($2.20) per liter (£6 per gallon, $10 per gallon [i have no idea what you use in the us, but i think its gallons]) so that would cost money. But i cba to work all of that bit out. So it would cost me more than £1200 a year to own a car even if i didn't even use it. Currently travel costs me 25% of that, if i had that sort of money to spend i would much rather put that £900 into my pc and rc cars. Out of interest how does this compare to in the US?
Re: General discussion chat With my sister I think my parents matched whatever amount of money that she came up with for a car. She got an 00 Passat for 4-5 grand I think. It's a nice car but last month it cost my sister around $2,000 in repairs..
Re: General discussion chat well, gas wise that's pretty expensive (at least compared to the part of the US i'm in, it's only about $3 something per gallon, and yes we use gallons in the us) don't really know about insurance yet, but should know pretty soon, i probably take my tests on the 20'th (depends on how much time we have that day to go do stuff like that)
Re: General discussion chat Took this pic when I was riding yesterday It's pretty cool and I haven't edited it in any way yet it just went like that because of bad camera (go pro rip off) and weird lighting. Finished my tank and helicopter animation's they were actually quite fun to make. attachment down below or click here (can't be bothered uploading to YouTube right now)
Re: General discussion chat You can get insurance kinda cheap if you take one of the plans that just makes you legal. Only thing it does is keeps you from getting sued if you hit someone. Also covers the cost of the person you hit's car. But you have to cover the repairs of your car yourself. It's kinda risky, but that's what I plan on doing. If I wrap my crown Vic around a tree a month after I get, it, I'm fucked, but I just hope and pray it won't happen.
Re: General discussion chat when I was younger, I racked up quite a few points on my record (about 16) and, after suspensions and assessments, my insurance skyrocketed to over 700 bucks A MONTH. I then proceeded to fuck the insurance companies by "moving" to a location in North Carolina and registering, insuring, and getting my license down there. Same record, but my insurance dropped to about 180/month (much more manageable). The insurance rates in NY should be considered illegal. But that's the cost of living in a place that is super jam-packed and over populated and not to mention the amount of illegals running their shitty Toyotas around like lunatics without insurance.
Re: General discussion chat Your getting a Crown Vic? You lucky bastard. I almost bought one for $900 but the seller talked my dad OUT of it. All because it's rear wheel drive, fun wheel drive, drivers wheel drive.
Re: General discussion chat Well I'd like to but it's not really set in stone yet. If for some reason my parents won't let me (highly unlikely. My dad only stops me from buying useless stuff) then I'd just tell them to fuck off and register and insure it myself. Why the hell did the guy talk your dad out of buying the car? Really, why would you tell a customer not to buy something from you? why did your dad have a say in it anyway, if you were buying it? I'm guessing he'll cover insurance?
Re: General discussion chat Yea, they didn't want to pay out the ass for insurance. So, I promptly got my Corolla for free. Guy was junking it and just kinda gave it to me. The guy we were buying from was a pastor. He didn't feel comfortable selling a tail happy rear wheel drive car to a 16 year old. States it's scary in the rain, I didn't believe him, but I didn't have a say in the matter. It needed a lot of work though. Dented, needed an exhaust (my god it sounded good), was really floaty, had a horrible knocking noise coming from the engine area. Could have been a rod, could have been the harmonic balancer, don't know. Wouldn't have been surprising since it had ~260,000 miles and a check engine light. But all power equipment worked, even the power seats. No odd smells, no leaks. I wish it was mine. Only down side was about 14 miles to the gallon. That's where my Corolla comes good, 35 mpg bitches! Now that I think of it... It was actually a Mercury Gran Marquis. Same as a Vic though.
Re: General discussion chat lol a "seller" told your dad NOT to buy something LMAO, what kind of "seller" is that? Maybe he genuinely thought it wasn't a good idea and maybe he was right, but I just think thats funny how he actually talked him out of it. Not buying a car because its RWD is stupid, FWD is better for beginners but most people can handle RWD just fine, although RWD sucks on snow and ice. Crown Vics can make a great 1st car for teens who want something cool and to work on/modify. They aren't perfect though.
Re: General discussion chat THANK YOU! And the worst "snow" we get in southern Ohio is usually an inch or two in late January. That's about it. My mom has a 4wd SUV and never uses the 4wd.
Re: General discussion chat Rwd is still rather simple to control in snow and ice. I drive a rwd/4wd truck with 300 horsepower and no weight in the back. Sure you get wheel spin if you have a heavy foot, but it's still easy to control. I wouldn't get anything other than rwd.
Re: General discussion chat Theoretically, in the snow with an RWD car wouldn't it be easier to just drive backwards? (As long as you don't try to turn at speed I mean.)
