Ah thanks. Haven't played it yet. ..in an arcade even. I think it is noticeable enough to deserve to be in all proper car simulators (or just any game with engine off function).
I've seen your video. Fantastic work! My friend had a Fiat Brava 1.6 automatic... I personally think that the Covet should sound like that. It's a typical 4 cylinder petrol engine sound.
Hello , my name is Ti2000 I totally agree with LordJarhead. I am also audiophile but especially for engine noise. I think we can complete each other, but paradoxically, since you love the recorded sounds, and my method is synthetic, since not registered. Let me explain: : Confus: There a few years (I perfect me ), I found a method to produce the sound of an engine in real time, unlike current games or the sound is coming from a recorded portion, and then re-sampled to increase or decrease the frequency of sound as a function of engine speed. My system can produce the noise of " pistons " in real time, coming from the admission or pot, etc. . for any type of engine. I do not want to explain too far, I do not want anyone take my idea, but I would like you listen an example that give it during the game, and a sound recording from beamng so that you can compare and advise . LordJarhead, I would be happy that we can complement each other. Please excuse my english... : O
lol, sounds pretty damn good near the end of the vid ! I was just curious if fmod was used or just a sound editor to create the dynamic engine sounds. @ ti2000 - you're sound is really nice! Have you got it working ingame yet?
art/sounds/ I had another stab at sounds. This time they're actually in the game, there's no video editing done here. The script only works specifically for the rally Covet.
Nice work Squeegy! Are you able to share how you created the sounds. It seems to be a taboo subject or something, noone will divulge this information on how engine sounds are made ! lol
LordJarHead, i'm just popping in to give you the thumbs up, and hoping you will continue working on BeamNG in the future. As i use your mod for A3 almost daily and absolutely love the frikking tits out of it, A3 will never be the same without your sound mod !! Doing something similar for BeamNG would be fantastic
Its really good what you've produced! As it varies in the frequency bandwidth and is very realistic. I especially like that kind of throttle valve sound when you release the throttle and the overrun operation - its way more than just lowering the frequency again. So I also would love to see anything from you released and brought ingame!
the problem is that I am not a programmer, and I do not know at all how to integrate them into the game I've successfully modify some files games for fun, but no more! To simplify and to start without the details, the program should play a sound once per rotation of engine. (1 rpm, its 1 per minute) if someone could help me ...
That's simple enough to do. You wouldn't be able to modulate sounds via script in real time but you can play one of several pre-generated sounds for throttle on/off. You can only modify the pitch and volume using a single sample.
I don't know where you're getting that from, but that isn't the race update, it doesn't have new sounds. The devs have stated their plans on that
I really like your work on the sounds LordJarhead, the v8 is really good. That kinda inspired me to mix a few sounds myself and it's not that easy to get a good looping sound. However, I've got a few half decent sounds for the Ibishu, still can't get the V8 right:
