No. You need to also download the file from the simple skin tutorial on the wiki. Put that in your mods folder. Now write down the name of the image in the mod. Now, save your uv file as a copy under the name that you wrote down, and drag it into the mod folder.

Name the skin that. Then replace the image that's in the mod folder by default with your new one.

 

but the sample skin didnt got any images to replace ahhh....

Then save your skin as a .dds and replace the .dds in the mod with your skin.
