Just because it wasn't referred to as a SUV at that time doesn't mean it isn't. --- Post updated --- You mean the name the car got years after it was released?
There was something that I should've said. What's interesting to me is that a lot of people according to what I looked up thinks that the 1946 Willys Jeep Station Wagon is the first SUV. Yeah.
Then it's not really continuing the actual model name (which was Type 1 originally). It's continuing the vehicle itself, but with a different name from the original. Like the Pacifica is continuing the Town and Country, but it's under a different model name.
its like Subaru killed the subaru Legacy everything after the mk2 legacy was bland and im glad they killed the legacy and made a new car called the Subaru Levorg legacy: Levorg:
The levorg is really nice looking, but it is only availible with a 1.6 and a CVT. Give me a 2.0l turbo and a stick and it would be good. Anyways, the beetle was an interesting little machine and it will be missed a bit by me. Too bad the new ones were rebodied golfs. If it had a rear engine it might have had a bit more success. What’s next, Fiat killing the 500?
Yea but i prefer the 2015 Impreza WRX it has alot of oomph i mean Horsepower a stick shift and a Boxer engine.
This Levorg is boy racer garbage. It doesn't even have an option of transparent real glasses. Back on topic, I'm even glad the New Beetle is dead. I hate retro-styled cars.
I am forced to look at my neighbor’s beige pt cruiser convertible sometimes. Not a successful design.
The only reason the Beetle was able to survive this long was because of how much popularity the original vehicle had.
