This one hasn't been too bad other than running at 87°C constantly before I got smart enough to not trust the auto fan feature

I have just confirmed that the GPU stopped responding error is solely due to overclocking, I ran my computer on beamng for roughly an hour without an overclock and no longer got the error. Now to determine if there is a fix...

if you're living the laptop life

you're living the predetermined specification with little to no room for change life

Yeah, overclocking (if unstable) can easily trigger a 'Not Responding' error in-game.
Return your card to stock if you get that.

Overclocking does not give too many FPS more as an average, at low end increase is minimal, didn't see any point of overclocking when I tested, because improvement was not even 10% and 10% more fps would still be tiny improvement.

Something like 20fps more would be actually worth the trouble.

However to get more stable overclock you need more cooling, with laptop that is going to involve some customizing of laptop body etc. Not sure if all cooling in the world would help to get meaningful amount of overclock though.

Even with CPU around 15% higher single core performance due to overclock did not give much help to CPU limited situations, so it's about same to run with stock clocks.

I have an i7 7700hq so cpu overclocking is out of the question. However, you do get pretty significant performance boosts with an overclocked gpu.

The only instability issues I have had is playing beamng. I can beat on it all day and never have any issues but something with beamng is causing it to stop responding

I know that pretty much from all the similar support requests I've seen so far.
Most of the time that's caused by overclocked cards (AMD cards are more prone to this)
Either tune it down or return it to stock
