And you don't need the extra memory to run the second monitor. The extra memory comes in handy when playing games across both monitors (eyefinity).
I have a 750ti in my system currently, its a 2gb model, from what I can say its a good card for its value, it runs at low tempatures, and its so quiet, I can't tell if its on, I think I have the windforce edition, it games at around 59 degrees C, never hits 60, I saw it hit 60 once, I could play Watch Dogs fine at high settings at 1080p, it runs beamNG fine going around 35 - 60 fps if you plan on playing DayZ you will be happy, I get 60fps 70% of the time, but DayZ is a CPU heavy game, and I have a i7 4770, non k, if this is your budget, and you can't get a 770, then get the 750, but i'm swapping it out for a 770 soon, the points in 3d mark is a complete joke sadly. The 750ti is a great card.. for now, but in a few months time it won't be able to run the games at max settings, I do reccommend it, but its better to get a 760 or a 770, why not the 780? that thing is EXPENSIVE.
Well i went ahead and bought the Asus 2GB GTX 770 DirectCU II OC. Thanks for all the help guys otherwise I would have wasted money on a near downgrade! Now to test out the new puppy by playing... drumroll....... Minecraft! Just kidding.
dont laugh, Minecraft can get overkill too just use some shaders and so on BTW got the same card, struggling now to get the GTX 780 .... no i dont need ..... i .... neeed .... dont need ... aaahhhh
Well, to be fair, if the GPU wasnt working or had incorrect drivers then minecraft wouldnt run at all, so if minecraft does run then you know its working. Not going to stress your GPU much though
Wow, what a Night & Day difference in BeamNGDrive! I should probably give the new Wolfenstein another play through, seeing as that's the newest title I have bought since FarCry 3 I haven't touched Minecraft in ages but it's good aimless fun whenever I do crack it open. I always thought Minecraft was more dependent on CPU than GPU... Anyways, even my Banana! score has improved. Will post a side by side comparison in that thread. I think the 770 was the right way to go. The 760 is excellent bang for the buck but I wanted to have an upgrade with a noticeable performance increase; also I should be set for at least three years now. This PC is set. 16GB of good RAM, a great processor and mobo, an efficient PSU and now a fantastic card which it way more quiet than my previous HD 6780! When I installed the 770 I did a spring cleaning too, dust, fans & fan filters. I mentioned that I would re-seat my CPU cooler due to my idle and load temperatures being seemingly high. I removed the fan and then heatsink, cleaned up the thermal past, reapplied a fresh dab, reseated the heatsink then mounted the fan (I'm using a freezer pro, can't remember the revision/version #). Anyways my CPU temperatures are still high/unchanged, peaking near 80*C on load. I hope it's a temperature sensor malfunction or the calibration is off but 80*C is certainly not right... I'm using an Antec 1200 gaming case with more fans than North Korea's food stockpiles, my cables are fairly well organized and tucked away for optimum air flow yet I'm still recording high temperatures; surely it's an error? I remember my Intel E8400 had a similar problem giving inaccurate temperature readings and many E8400 users expressed their same concerns. I don't seem to see many 2600K owners talking about high idle temps unless they have a small or dusty case or a factory heatsink/fan. - - - Updated - - - Nice old stereo you have there Kracksn, what brand and model is it? And talk about desktop speaker overkill! I love it! Hehe
In a Raidmax Aeolus kept regularly dusted with 3 120mm fans (2 in, one out. Used to have 3 out but I got an H100i and I took them out to mount the rad, but when it didn't have the right style of mountings I CBA to put anything back in those slots.) Routinely see the 2600k at stock voltages up to mid 70*C range in Beam on the stock cooler with AS5 TIM, gets up to 87*C when video encoding. I don't video encode much any more. How does the 770 do in Beam framerate wise? I need more VRAM, but I'm in a toss-up between selling this 760 and getting a 4GB 760 and a case to fit the H100i, or selling the 760 and the H100i for a 770 4GB and a CM Hyper 212 EVO. (Don't tell me the 760+H100i wouldn't be enough money, I'm planning on throwing in $1-200 on my own as well) I'm just curious what you get in Beam FPS wise, I hover around 40 on DRI. The reason I'm asking for Beam as a comparison is it's almost impossible to be VRAM bottlenecked with 2GB and our systems are otherwise near identical from what I've read.
No. What I mean is that I wanted an upgrade that would last me a few years instead of a couple. Pulley, I'm seeing on average about 65fps (50 to 80) with one vehicle on Dry Rock Island with all PostFX disabled, 1440x990, 16x AF and 4x AA, high everything and vsync disabled. With all PostFX enabled (SSAO at High) the framerate drops to about 50 (40 to 60), dips down the mid 30's during a hard crash.
Ignore thanks, stupid tapatalk wont let me remove it I cant afford a widescreen monitor, and its not that bad :/
