    Yeah installation should be the same as AL17 :)

    What ive got left is applying the same settings for all maps, some have them except the ocean and some doesnt. Cant say how long tbh but from a few days to a few weeks.

    Right, i also need an answer from a forum member, ive borrowed the exposure part from his tonemap mod, to get the latest tonemap code working

    I have a problem with the sun flare turning up a bit "grainy" in some cases. Do you have any experience with this Dave?

    Yes its the original t3d game engine shader that does that. Theres a 'new' (old as hell but updated) light ray shader released somewhere (i think on the old garagegames forums) that fixes that. I had no luck adapting it to BeamNG unfortunatly.

    Still havent got a response from the other tonemap guy on here so cant release it yet :)
    Another thing is itll take some time to adapt the sea settings so i might keep that to small island.

    This is an assumptio: I assume BeamNG is getting updated very soon, as close as in this week or the next, it just has that feel to it but i could definitely be wrong. Historically ive managed to release my mod and in the days after that, BeamNG has been updated, which is great but also sucks since i need to update my mod again lol.

    AL18 released
    AL18-2 update, small change on small island, download AL18-2.zip instead of AL18.zip


    Credits to @Travarmojsije here at the forums for a part of the tonemap code!

    AL18 is out, a completely new tonemap is used, its the Lottes Tonemap from AMD. Ive also spent time tailoring each maps sky and sun settings but also oceans and rivers. The one map that is the best looking IMO is Small Island, its ocean looks fantastic. Ive also spent some time making bigger changes to the river in Utah.
    It also contains my SSAO mod which lets you keep the SSAO settings youve changed in Photo Mode.

    Installation vid in the link below. it is for AL12 but you follow it except its ofcourse for Beamng 0.24 so its that folder and also you DONT push Load PostfxPreset in the PostFx window ingame, it should already been loaded. If you like your current PostFx preset then make a backup of that file.



    A run through in words are:

    • Download the attached AL18.zip file
    • Drag and drop the folders from that zip into your C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.24 folder
    • Delete the 'Temp'-folder in your C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.24 folder. This is the same things as Clearing Cache but it just cleares the game files so that they reload.

    And done!

    The first screenshot is vanilla BeamNG, the rest is my mod. I actually got a 15-20% fps increase WITH my mod but no promises :rolleyes:

    mod broke my picnic wheels, and also this happens on noon:

    I don't want to hate on this mod since I loved it in the past, but this recent update seems much more intrusive on what I already had going on with my beamng, and now I don't know how to fix this
    UPDATE:
    I moved to Small Island and it fixed all the issues, but it's still a bit deep-fryish for me
    I can't read the picnic's gauges without highbeam because it's so dark
    and the taillights are black at some angles

    No problem my friend, looks really good with that CRX, might need to track it down :D

    It really shouldnt effect any vehicles at all, when those things occure its usually the BeamNG installation needing a reinstall due to old stuff laying about or another mod doing it :confused:
    This mod is mostly for vanilla maps so mod maps might need adjustments. What map is the sun black on? It can be fixed by setting sun size to 0.04 if its not already, i usually use 0.05 so its a small trade.

    Sure, you can weaken the effects, i do think it looks stronger on your screenshots than on mine and the others members screenshots above so im thinking something else might be going on. You can weaken the effects by going into World Editor (press F11) and find the 'sunsky' function in the scene tree, its usually under 'Level Objects'. There you can test increasing 'Exposure' to 1.0, should be 0.5 now. You can also decrease 'Brightness' to 3 or 2, should be 4 now. Good luck :oops:

    EDIT: I found a small problem, Exposure was set wrong on small island leading to too strong shadows, @Alieu thanks for your input!
    AL18-2 added to the AL18 release post, with this correction :)

    With every new release of AL shaders, In turn I make a cinematic. Though Youtube still compresses it so much so it doesnt look pretty much. But here it is.
