Grass is now black.

The title says enough.

 

clear cache? remove mods?

 

usually texture problems are caused by mods or your cache.
delete your cache, or go through your mods

 

Double check the materials.cs filepath and make sure the material is where the materials.cs is looking for it.

 

So I disabed all mods, nothing. Cleared Cache, nothing. Reinstalled game, nothing. But I did find this

 

I cleared both. The problem just randomly appeared, no mods were installed at the time.

 

This is something in the map that's bugging out.
Check in all your materials.cs files for something looking like "content\levels\mapname\folderinmap\filethegameisseeking" <- get rid of the content word

OR

Something looking like "..\..\..\..\users\yourname\documents\everything else........\levels\yourmap\folderinmap\filethegameisseeking" <- get rid of everything before levels including the backslash (\)

Notepad++ makes this easy by searching in multiple files for certain lines of text. Simply delete them and you should be all set.

If this doesn't fix it, you should seek out the textures for the material from that window again:


and then it's likely you'll see nothing changed or just black textures.

Do the above steps again and you should be all fixed.

 

I forgot to mention that every map does this.

 

I had this happen to me. The only fix Was a clean reinstall.

I fixed it the grass texture duplicated itself.
