Multiplay is fun but: -30% of the players are total dicks waiting for you to deposit the money at a bankmchine and than just kill you before you can do it. -People already got such a high level after 1-2 days of playing? (Error 404 - Real life not found) -Lobby system doesn't work well. -Police are not humans but high end machines wich have a x-ray vision and can smell you over a few miles. ( I once robbed 2 stores and killed the owner - got 4 stars and everytime I got rid of the cops a heli spawned just near enough so I was in his radius. It was going like that about 20mins and than I rage quited becaue it was simply not possible to get rid of 4 stars) -Races are fun but don't always work properly - sometimes someone is just going faster without any reason. -If you just slightly touch someones car in a race he will very likely make a crash. It's like the cars have huge grip but suddenly when someones touches a car its like your driving on ice. -Normal Deathmatch ( not teamdeathmach) sucks as hell. It's so shit I can't even describe it in words. But yeah after it's still pretty fun Only thing that sucks is all my rl friends are a) no gamers or b) pc players so I have nobody to play with :/ @Edit: Yep, I was first in a race on the airport, I had a 4k bet on me and on the last line I got overtaken by someone with the exactly same car on a straight line. Fuuu-.-
ugh, everytime I go to online and the guy goes walking to that blue circle, it says "readying session" but it doesn't work at all.. I am Ducking sick of trying... The goddamn menu saying "Configurations | Players | Details" doesn't even work!
online is just a complete joke. the servers are even worse than totaljerkface's ones. there sure is ways to skip the first race, but i want to do this properly. i want to enjoy the tutorials, and not do them just to take time from my life. and damn, every "lobby" i get into, has always someone with a mic. either it is a squeker, or its some guy who rubs it on his dick. seriously... they can't even develop a easy timeout system.
Just so you know you can deposit money through your phone - go to web > money > maze bank and deposit through that. If you really want to use an ATM check the map before going near it to see if there's any players nearby. I don't have any issues with police that you mention, just a case of being smarter than they are. Same with deathmatch - be smarter than other players.
I've been playing all afternoon, got to level 8-9, then suddenly it gets stuck loading a mission saying ''starting sesion'' or something like that, so I reboot the console after 10 minutes and when I come back online my character is gone and the money too... Then I reboot again and I have all the money back but no character yet... So I guess (and hope) that it's just a server issue and my character will be back soon. Edit: It seems the character is not lost, they are just adding new servers and the character won't show up until the copy all the data from the other servers.
i believe the higher the driving skill, the faster you can drive. im not sure, but it seems this way.
Nope, only the tire traction changes I believe. I don't really want to play online until it's fixed now, afraid of having something corrupting my save or whatever
You can slipstream cars, AND there's a toggleable catchup option that the host can set. The car that won most likely drafted him or was rubberbanded by the catchup.
Online sounds like its crap lol where's all the excuses.. now you can join the rest of us who are already mad at the driving physics, Tell Rockstar to take GTA V and go home. so much money spent on this game just to have it be slightly above average in every way.. Fail time to let it sink in, except it, just own it ---- GTA5 kinda sucks.. A few reasons why: Well, it sucks that all the great fun you can have in GTA 5, is limited, thanks to the f*cking cops. It's basically like this. If you sneak, and pick off anyone with a silenced sniper rifle, you get pigs on your tail. If you steal a car in the middle of nowhere, and a guy sees it, he obviously repport you for stealing a car. But by the time he managed to call it in, you would be long gone, and it dosen't matter where you are, cause the cops can spawn and teleport to your current location. Let's say you desided to have fun with your tuned Bugatti, or Koenisegg. You found out you like to troll civilians, but some of them shoots at you if you get them angry enough. So you obviously have to kill them before they kill you and you would have to go back to the city to retriev your inpounded car. So then you get heat for killing them. Even 3 stars. Outrun a Ford Crown Victoria with a Buggati in GTA 5? Forget it, they're cop cars can probably outrun a jet if they wanted. Get away from the cops by plane? Forget that too! Their helicopters can just teleport in front of you. If nobody of you find that frustrating and freaking annoying, then you obviously haven't been a GTA fan for long. GTA is not suppose to be realistic. But it's not suppose to ruind the damn fun the game has to offer either. A few days after release, a standard issue cop car prefformed a pit stop manouver on me while I was driving a semi truck. Now where is the logic in that? Same as the fact that I made a civilian, driving an origional Buick angry when I was driving a Bugatti fully tuned. He managed to keep up with me, when I started to floor it. I really like GTA 5, but there are some things that should of been self written. Like the physical law itself. And if you like this game, you can't ignore these things. I like this game alot, so I can live with it. I have to anyway. But the cops.. Seriously. Rockstar should do something about it. They can be tough, yes. I'm up for the challenge. But at least limit their helicopter support. And where they spawn. It dosen't matter if 2, 50 cal. bullets in the tail rotor can bring them down, when they've got infinate supply of helicopters, and they spawn instantly and within spotting range from you.
I think you guys are only looking at the bugs and bad things of the game, I mean, look at the good side! You can do hundreds (thousands?) of things you couldn't do for example in GTA 4, like catching thugs, go hiking, pilot planes and jets, drive tanks, etc. The map is huge, you have three characters, each with their special ability, there are tons of different weapons which you can customise deeply, there are so many different cars which you can customise in so many different ways, pedestrians and police are vastly improved. Pedestrians can even call the cops on you! There are so many random, dynamic events that happen throughout the game, like even getting raped and stuck to a railroad to get killed! There are animals, you can go super high (sky high and drug high). There are ghosts, UFOs, bigfoots, sharks, and stuff that GTA games never had! The sea is so detailed that I'm amazed by Rockstar, the scenery is just so beautiful! You can do so much and explore the game so much that it would take so much time to know the whole entire game! If you want I can spend the whole day typing good things about the game!
If you can't outrun the Cruisers with an Adder(Bugatti Veyron) or Entity XF(Koenigsegg CCX/CCXR), I can only say that you're a really really bad driver good sir... I managed to outrun a police chopper and five copcars in a flipping Futo on straight highways in the countryside... and that's not even a fast car. I managed to outrun two police helicopters and three copcars in that Chrysler Crossfire thing while missing 2 of my tires... The reason why helicopters spawn within your spotting range is because these things can see for a HUGE area in real life too, especially since they have heat-sensitive high tech camera stuff(I can't remember what it's called...). Yet you're still just doing something wrong, because I've only experienced any cop(car or helicopter) spawning within spotting range once... If you truely think GTA 5 sucks as a whole only because you find the cops are hard to evade, honestly, please go trade in your game and play Saints Row or whatever where you can just blow the whole city up after 2 minutes of starting the storyline. The only thing actually annoying about the cops is that 1: They seem to always know where you are, because they somehow always "by coincidence" enter that alley you're in, and not the ones you're not in. Then again, if the cops are looking for you in real life, I'd expect them to look through alleys, but it's still a bit silly. Plus in the countryside, they always spawn in the direction you're trying to escape in while you're already out of sight, yet they do seem to spawn mostly random when in the city. And 2: The cooldown period is too long. Yep, both are annoying. Guess what though, this game is going back to the roots of GTA. No more realistic stuff like in IV. This game is a HD GTA with the realism of the old GTA trilogy(III, VC and SA). People seem to have forgotten that the physics were always like this, and the cops were like this too, but less sophisticated. I love how the cops actively try to box you in, or drive in front of you and start braking to slow you down, meanwhile preventing you from getting passed. It's just a really nice realistic touch in an otherwise unrealistic game. That said... Shooting people (neither in the city nor in the countryside) with a silenced weapon has litterally never given me a wanted level unless cops were really close-by. The reason cops can find you after stealing a car is because someone would report the clothes you're wearing, what you look like, and the car you're driving, so that's what the police will be looking for. It makes perfect sense. All you need to do to evade 'em is swap cars or hide under something so the helicopters can't see you. They drive right passed you 90% of the time if you stick to traffic rules after you swapped cars(your radar pointer will turn grey if they don't know what car you're in). That, or you can just drive on the traintracks... In the countryside that's, like, the best way to lose them. This IS definitely game of the year, EVEN with the ridiculous online problems. Just the sheer size yet amount of detail of the map alone would make it a game of the year for me... Every inch of the game shows how much effort and soul they put into their work. Nothing seems lazily textured or modeled.(well, apart from a lot of the cars still having narrow roofs and straight roofpillars...)
Also happends with me. - - - Updated - - - Thats why you get a baggati and pimp it out to the max, then your car is faster then the heli
I don't play online. So anyway, I know what Michael does in his bed when his wife leaves.... (imported from here) I uh...I don't judge..we all love our cars and such.. - - - Updated - - - Without cheats, it can be difficult having 'crazy' fun. Like 'mayhem'. With cheats, I've never had so much fun. The 5 minute limit on invincibility is lame sure, but in that 5 minutes...dear god...I've conquered worlds.... Thanks to cheats, there's a fighter jet in my hanger, all 3 versions of the Granger in my garage (FBI, police, ranger), and the fun I have holding 5 stars while riding on top of a train. Unmeasurable. Exploding bullets + riding on top of the train + shooting at freeway traffic = limitless fun Bored? Go to the top of Chiliad, turn on invincibility, then stumble and trip down the side of the mountain. You can roll down the entire mountain, leaving blood stains along the way. I laughed my ass off. I've literally done it all. I still maintain my original opinion that V is not that great, and I don't enjoy driving. But the current cheats make up for all my grievances.
I won't be getting this game until it comes to the PC, because it sounds like it has a TON of stupid flaws which get in the way of the fun.
It has and yes, you won't miss anything if you wait. I regret it a lot to have bought the xbox just to play gta5. And yes ofc it's the best game of this year with it's ridicoulously huge budget but yeah... Still the thing that I am most dissapointed on, is the story an the "going back to unrealism" (But that's just my personal opinion. I know gta5 is ment to be a "parody" or something similar to Action Films and the real world, but that's not an excuse to make a crappy mainstream story. I personally enjoyed playing mafia2 much much more than I enjoyed playing gta5 because of the realism, the amazing and sad story wich would have given a great film and the overal feeling. Gta5 just feels like a san andres with better graffics instead of a gta4 with a bigger world. And that's just my opinion, I enjoy the game a lot but still, for me gta5 is a step back compared to the gameplay of gta4.
Just as a little test... Could some of you say if GTA Online is working for you, and if it has worked in the last few days, and in what country you live(unless you have it on your profile of course), and what console you're on? Seems to me like they're randomly turning servers in different parts of the world on and off for testing, even though they claim the new update fixed a lot of the problems... Really really annoying. A few days ago I noticed people in Australia were able to play just fine on PS3, but I, in the Netherlands, couldn't, and Fradias(Portugal) couldn't either(cloud servers unavailable). Two days ago, Australia was complaining it didn't work(again, cloud servers), and it worked 100% fine for me, but not in Portugal. Yesterday I have no idea. Today, people from Australia are complaining on the R* support pages that it doesn't work, and it doesn't work for me either(cloud servers unavailable), but now 2 people in Portugal that I know can...
Since 2 days it works fine for me apart a few weird erros, like everytime I connect my hair is gone and sometimes my amo too. I live in germany but I don't think that it depends on were you live, I have a friend, he uses ps3 and he lives 3 streets away and wasn't able to connect yet. I use xbox 360 gold. - - - Updated - - - That's probably it, this stupid pussy a** option. Why does this even exist? And why do cars transform into tanks when you get in race? I was first, I slightly touched a small car with my jeep and I got thrown back a few meters. And why do cars have tons of grip but when your oponent touches you slightly your grip transforms from f1 car to 0 grip. You have absolutely no chance when someone touches you in the race to keep your vehicle straight, and not loose control. Rockstar screwed up everything they could screw up what concerns races. It's a 24/7 rage. And I am not someone who gets mad easily but this is the only way to get quite a lot of money quickly.
I love Mafia 2, still one of my favorite open world games and it still looks good on PC. I haven't played GTA V yet, waiting for a hopefully soon PC release.
