Got new drivers. Running everything except textures on 'High" now. What does "distance scaling" do?... (That's 54fps btw, accidentally cut off a bit of the screenshot when uploading it to Puush)
It's like the ratio of the distance, a multiplier. I'm not sure of how much, but increasing that slider will multiply the distance view of the objects (More like LOD than visibility) by a value. I don't see any difference using that.
wow still broken smoothing groups you'd think they would fix it i mean it not like they are a big company or anything
hmmm, i wonder if once people figure out how the new file system works, if someone will add smothing groups to all the models and upload it as a mod somewhere would be cool
I frickin' give up I may as well be playing it on my PS3, got 3GB of free RAM and it just won't run!!! Lowest detail, 800x600, still only getting 20fps. Re-installed the drivers and still no better. It keeps fluctuating between maxing my GPU out and not using it at all.. In the benchmarks I get a solid 60FPS but when actually trying to play it cocks up. Reinstalled it 3 times, validated the cache 4! Grrrrrr! All other games work fine so I'm reasonably sure that my GPU is not faulty.
Something else may be bottlenecking(videoram or processor), or it may be an actual bug in the optimization of the game, making it not run properly on your specific setup. Make a report for it, they might actually help you. Overall, I think Rockstar seems to have done a great job optimizing the game for many different setups, and even optimization, but I can't help but think my game doesn't look THAT much better than the Ps3 version, other than higher resolution and anti-aliasing and grass :/ As for broken smoothing groups: Is it actually that? I've noticed on real cars you often get some distortion in the reflections near the panel gaps due to surface tension and such: It may be done on purpose, but in a bad way? I'd imagine that if they just smoothed all the edges on the panel gaps it would have more drastic results? Btw, is it me or does the map ingame look a lot more detailed? It's perrty!
Just checked and my CPU is pinned at 100%... I'm just going to cry in a corner now. As for video RAM, 300MB used out of 2GB.
Check thread usage. Might be using a single core... That's all I can think of. This should be obvious, but make sure no CPU-intensive tasks are running in the background. I've seen something about the launcher staying open and hogging 25% of CPU time.
I'm not being an idiot here, am I? I decided after discovering the existance of peyote to find a guide for it. Peyote #1, and it's just plain nonexistant. I can certainly hear it, and those rocks appear to be the ones in that video... so where is the darn plant?
I'd pay to play through this. There are some gnarly turn stretches in races ie "Through Wine Country." I just have to go about finding a deal on my own budget. These games are way to expensive without friends.
There's a crew that represents BeamNG already, here is the link. http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/crew/beamng
No, I was actually in the right place. I could hear the plant. After mucking around wiht the area for 3 hours I found it inside that large leaf thing.
Go to pause menu, then gallery and you decide which one to upload to your RSC account. To view them you need to visit your RSC profile.
I would advise against closing the launcher. I've seen plenty of reports on GTA Forums that people who close the launcher experience crashes after around 30mins to 1hr 30mins of playing. Your safest bet is to lower the CPU priority of the launcher, and increase it on the game.
be warned that some people have noted that doing this will cause the game to crash what you could do is create a .bat file to set the gtav exe to high priority and the gtavlauncher to low priority: start steam://rungameid/271590 timeout 60 wmic process where name="GTA5.exe" CALL setpriority "high priority" wmic process where name="gtavlauncher.exe" CALL setpriority "idle" wmic process where name="subprocess.exe" CALL setpriority "idle"
