Been busy with work and using my free time to just chill out. The last thing I did was make a few stonewall models which I posted into the discord. I had also been fixing the trials, removing cuts, totally gutting some of the Rally tracks, adding prefabs to all trials and changing recommended vehicles to better suit (since the Covet update). I have a few more custom fence models to make for certain fields/areas in the park, but then I'll be able to push the 0.1.2 update.
Resuming work on the project after a few months break. Focusing on the larger fields fences. I'm creating custom models for these sections to give them some unique character over the single fence models already made. This fence will be split into 8 segments to help with LOD/performance, so that all the polys aren't loaded when not in view. I have 2 other fields (3 in total) that I want to fence off, before the next release, as well as the Ha-ha walls around the hall. I also have an updated/finished model of the hall, but it needs LOD's and proper texturing before I implement it.
Done the first field, 2 more and a few other bits before 1.1.3 release. Have some pictures (bonus pictures include bridge/tunnel and some other models).
Seems like it has a bit of trails, but are any parts of it suitable for rallying (I wanna use the Group B Covet and blast through the peaceful park lol) ?
There are several rally trials (about 10, maybe) that I have made for the park. Most use a mixture of dirt and asphalt. Rally Cross 03 is a solid point to point rally (but it contains unfinished sections of the map). There is a Rally Circuit (02) I designed with the Covet Rally Turbo (Group B) in mind, however, it's a very technical circuit requiring really spot on control over the mid-engine rear wheel drive aspects of the car. Rally Circuit 03 is a more forgiving circuit that's about 70% dirt 30% Asphalt/concrete. Best way to find out is download the map, it's less than 1gb, give it a go for yourself. BIG EDIT: I forget, the version I play on is different to yours, the trial made for the Turbo Rally isn't in the current version, it'll be in the next release.
Feel free to criticise the idea but we need a pad for some diffin' so you can spin your clapped 2.4 iseries around with the worlds loudest exhaust
We got Tescos on the map bby! Going to be honest, this has bamboozled me. pad for diffin? Differential, drifting, different?
the diff or diffin/g is the irish term for having a bunch of cars doing donuts, drifting that kind of thing around a small enclosed area at a farm or even just the width of a road
this is how i imagine manchester as a londoner --- Post updated --- school lot looks perfect for corsa drivers...
Pre-release version 0.1.2 Happy New Year all, I wanted to get 0.1.2 out before 2023, but the work required is a bit more than I can handle. Here's the map as it currently is, as a pre-version. It should fix a bunch of the issues found from the updates to the game as well as bring a bunch more fidelity and variety. Some of the trials may be in a rough shape currently as they'll need their prefabs and such tweaking to accommodate the new objects and fences. I personally find this version of the map to be a huge improvement in-terms of visuals and gameplay, please have a gander and let me know. There is a good chance that some materials will be broken for you, this is an issue with caching, not the map itself. Clearing cache is likely to only fix some of the issues. I tested this on my laptop and it took an age to fix with deleting the old version of the map, clearing the caches (all of them) and restarting the PC before installing the new map version. The objects and models all have the correctly assigned materials, for some reason the engine will be trying to load materials both not assigned to the object nor found in the files. A potential work around in the future would be to make each released version of the map named uniquely so the engine doesn't try and load older materials and assets from the cache. I'll figure something out. Material issues I found while testing on my laptop: Forest tree trunks, metal comms pole, other various metal objects. I recommend you delete the old version and restart your PC before downloading and installing this version. Been working on the North-Eastern gate/entrance by the Golf Club. New set of kerbs to avoid wrecking your steering alignment on. Still have a few more props to make for this area, such as the entrance's fancy gate posts and some pay and park machines. I have also added a new trial that uses this area of the map, featuring the car pictured. The Lancehead has become my favourite to use in the park as of late. Anyway, hopefully, I'll be able to have the update out before the end of this month.
