Re: Nardelli Nuda Magical floating coil overs. Smoothing errors. Midget driver. Whatever those weird swing arms are. Poor chassis design. Weak cage. Your independent solid axle. Need i go on?
Re: Nardelli Nuda The suspension isn't connected to anything. The normals on the frame rails are not done properly. Aka edgesplit. The structure still doesn't look safe or inviting. No legroom for a human being. You lied, it has a solid rear axle. You lied, it has 2 wheel steering. Your bends are too awkward on the roof. Probably not very strong in the real world. This is opinion of course. The mesh in general doesn't look like you were inspired by anything remotely realistic. It looks like you threw something together super quick because a couple people were working on buggies.
Re: Nardelli Nuda First I didn't ask you. And thank you for your opinion. Btw, I didn't throw this together cause some others were working on buggies, and also I edited quite a bit since I posted that recent picture.
Re: Nardelli Nuda Aw come on guys. Yes, we know there are lots of things wrong with it, yes, we know Holland isn't perfect, but his work is better than most of us here can do, so why don't we just shut up and provide some actual constructive criticism. I could probably find and link 50+ vehicle and terrain threads made by people who will never produce work of a quality level anywhere near that of Holland's. If these quite abound errors could have been reported in a nicer way, I'm sure this would have all of gone down much better and Holland might be fixing them. It seems it's been worked out in the end, but next time we should think of a better way of doing this.
Re: Nardelli Nuda Excuse me for posting on a public forum. My apologies Master Holland. Edit: Dammit Dkutch, beat me to the punch. Err... post.
Re: Nardelli Nuda ............. I didn't direct the question to you, that's called respect when a question is directed to one person and you don't answer.
Re: Nardelli Nuda <offtopicwalloftext> My input on this... interesting argument: 1. "Taking ideas from others" - Well, they're pretty damn broad ideas. Anyone could come up with the idea to make an offroad version of an existing car or a buggy; they'd just need the modeling and jbeaming experience to execute it. If he was "copying" something unique (i.e. the Rocket-powered FT40 Sam made or Mt. Shell by Nadeox), then I'd consider it true copying. 2. "He started around the same time as Sam, so I'd expect a similar quality" - People learn at their own paces. Just because 2 people start something around the same time doesn't mean they're going to get progressively better at the same pace. However, I have to agree with Sam and dkutch a bit. Taking your time to perfect something before releasing it is definitely a must. Even if that means creating a thread a bit later on in the development. Also... You do have a good point there. </offtopicwalloftext> On-topic: I think this thing looks pretty good. Definitely a lot better than I was expecting, although it does need a bit of work before a beta release.
Re: Nardelli Nuda Is it just me, or has my idea of what age Holland seems to be/ act like, changed during the course of this thread to easily 5 years younger? I also think at this rate, this thing will either get canceled, become a closed/ deleted thread, or someone is gonna be in some "red banner" waters if things keep progressing the way they are.
Re: Nardelli Nuda Okay now this is finial. I'm not replying to any comments not related to (better than the recent) the buggy, and I advise for everyone to do the same, please? I'll be posting an update later tomorrow sometime.
Re: Nardelli Nuda I have to say, I don't quite understand what everyone's so annoyed about. Sure, it's not perfect at the moment. But he's working on it, and the floating suspension and similar stuff isn't permanent. He's still working on it and improving it. You compare this to DS's 911, but he hasn't released it yet. A lot of alpha-stage things are buggy and incomplete, just like this one. Maybe you think it's terrible, but I find it cool. Though I do have to admit I liked the previous design more. The combined supercar/sportscar and buggy looked cool. But hey, it's your model. Do what you want with it.
Re: Nardelli Nuda Wonderful. Here's a goal for you Holland. You got a lot of people picking at your working. A lot of haters. What you need to do is spend your time and put together the best damn buggy you can and kick out the naysayers. Just please don't stir a ruccus with everyone over something like this. Take what everyone has said throw it in the trash and make the damn thing the best you can. Then the haters will have to admire your work bud. You've made some poor choices. Few too many. Take your experience and cram it into something worth wild. /public speech .. tl;dr Start kicking some ass and taking names with this project.
Re: Nardelli Nuda Suspension arms cant magically pass through frame rails. And the lowers still arent attached. Here, various problems circled.
Re: Nardelli Nuda wow, the new framework looks a lot better in my opinion. I dont care that much for absolute effective tube geometry. Haters are strong with this thread. State your opinions factual/objective in the sense of construcive criticism, instead of displaying it with reproachful nagging. ^^
