I was watching a video for the video game gmod, when I found a mod review for beamng drive. I thought it was a cool game so I got it.
first time i witnessed the game was a video under "GTA V leaked video" or something along those lines. i think i saw something later referring to the game with either FlatOut or Wreckfest (known at the time as "BugBear's Next Car Game")
I was playing a lot of flatout burnout paradise and euro truck simulator. I thought that there is maybe a mod for destruction out there for ets2 I watched a video for that and on the end of the video the softbody physics video from beamng was recommended for me so I watched this video and was stunned to see something like that. I bought the game a few days later
got told by a friend, downloaded techdemo on a P4 pc at 3fps and was using that till my Pentuim D frames shot up to 8fps Core 2 quad update made my fps go north to 22fps, then a whole new PC the I5 one, when my frames were pathetic i watched all of YBRs videos
I came to ROR (which extremely impressed me back then) from forensic car crash animations, some time later I found a BeamNG video by Jaimswallace (now Kryton). I loved the game and watched almost every BeamNG video on Youtube, years later I bought it. Now I've got almost 300 hours on Steam and I staill play it every day.
I found RoR from YouTube, and then immediately i downloaded it. Suddenly when i'm searching RoR videos on YouTube, i saw a vid called "revolutionary soft body physics" and i was like, cool let me see. And realized the teams are from RoR. And then i went to the BeamNG website as a guest, and finally made an account in sept 2015.
I actually believed all of that gta V stuff (also at the same time playing RoR thinking they ripped it off) Then i found it on RoR forums somewhere. --- Post updated --- I actually bought it the day after it was released. Who Else remembers when there was the .Drive tab on the old website and everyone was saying it was the counter to when the actual game was released. I think i have a screenshot on my old iPod of the counter at 00:00:01 and then the game was released.
I think I was just searching 'crash simulator' on google a year or two ago, played the tech demo for a couple of months, then only remembered about it when it popped up on my steam queue a couple of months ago, I have never been so thankful of a suggested product!
Found out about RoR on youtube in 2012, which made me google "soft body physics". In the results at the time I found the early Beamng videos when it was still in cryengine. One day a year later I saw a Robbaz video on it, which let me know that it'd been released (I didn't even know it was going to be a game). Been playing ever since.
I was watching videos by Failrace when Insanegaz was recommended to me. I instantly became hooked to the game and watched most of his vids.
I was looking for "free 3d driving games", and found RoR. I played it for a few months, and it was pretty fun. Then I saw in someone's signature something about BeamNG. I didn't think much of it at first, but then I checked it out and I bought it shortly after my 13th birthday. To this date I've logged 150 hours in BeamNG.
I have been with this game ever since only the Covet, Bolide, GM, D-Series, H-Series were in-game. I can't recall how I got onto the beam-train. I think I found a youtube video of it, and then downloaded the techdemo, and then bought it like 20 minutes later.
