How do I update my game and keep my cars/maps?

Install to a different directory, which it should do anyway.

Then copy your downloaded levels and vehicles over.

 

I can't find it. I've installed it to %localappdata%, but when I check there, only the old BeamNG exists. Do I need to uninstall it before installing the new one?

 

There is a sub folder in the BeamNG.drive install folder called "alpha_prerace".

That's where the updated install is located.
