Newegg is a scam then, as I said I got it 380$ a year ago, so if they are charging 449$ now, with the new series out... that sound fishy.

Oh, here in Spain you can find the R9 290 for the price of the HD 7950 in newegg... LOL don't buy from that store pls.

The 4440 and 2500k I'd say they are on par. The 2500k goes up to 3,4Ghz on turbo mode, while the 4440 goes up to 3,3Ghz, but the 4440 is newer and a bit more efficient, so they should perform the same, although the 4440 can't be overclocked, so it makes it slower as you can easily overclock the 2500k past 4Ghz on air.

there is huge demand for 7900 series and r9 series video cards because of bitcoin/litecoin mining. i wouldnt be surprised if prices actually went up.

Yeah, those cards mine really good. Actually I have been mining for 2 days, a coin called Digitalcoin, it has gone up like 50% in 1 day  I have 72 coins, each worth 0,36$ right now, so that's a nice profit in such short period of time considering the computer did all the job

I'm not saying that it is the best place to buy that card right now, but Newegg is an extremely good and a very trusted site.

If you don't buy a GPU just for a game then there is no point in buying AMD.
Nvidia: performance, shadowplay, better drivers, Nvidia experience, physx, g-sync.
The only reason I'd buy AMD is if I only played 1 game and it worked better on AMD.

The GTX 660 Ti would be the best choice if you can find it. Why you may ask?
At my local computer parts store, here are the prices (In canadian $ so maybe a tiny bit cheaper in the US):

    GTX 760: 260$
    GTX 660 Ti: 200$
    HD 7950: 280$

Now for the 3DMark 11 Performance Scores:
(Since every 3dmark update changes scores a bit, the 7950 score is an estimation based on comparison between old scores vs new scores for the nvidia cards on guru3d.com)
    GTX 760: 8272
    GTX 660 Ti: 8739
    HD 7950: 8000 (about)

Any way you look at it, the 660 Ti is the best performance and the lowest price. Performance may vary depending on resolution, but in general the 660 Ti wins here

1st off, those scores are incorrect. The 7950 beats the 660ti in every way. Secondly, the 7950 used to be around 200, the only reason to buy the 7950 now is for compute due to GCN slaughtering <GK110 in compute.

Am I the only one with an amazing amd experience? My 7770 clocked to 1300/1247 and I never had a driver issue.

I like to scrounge around old hardware that I find in thrift stores and the trash and from that I can tell you that in the past amd drivers have been terrible and intel has out performed then. Adding amd catalyst added a nice 20 sec to my boot time on a p4 3.00ghz

If the 4440 can't be overclocked, I don't care because I don't want to and don't know how to overclock a PC, also my friend did it to his PC and it almost set on fire.

Well, I don't know about you, but I play other games apart from BeamNG, and they all work perfectly, most of them max settings 60 fps with v-sync enabled.

Physx is barely used, mantle will be used in a lot of new games and offers +20% performance increase, which means a cheap AMD will be on par with a much more expensive Nvidia. For G-sync you need a new monitor that will charge an extra 100$ for that feature only...

AMD drivers aren't bad at all, I've been an AMD owner since 2008, I've had a HD 4870, then a HD 5850, and now a HD 7950. And my brother has a HD 6850. I have NEVER had any issue with drivers, and for all I've read in some tech forums, it just seems to be a poor excuse not to recommend AMD.

Shadowplay is nice, no arguing there.

Just so we're clear, I'm not saying ''OMG go AMDz pls is bettah then nvdia'' I'm just saying AMD GPU's future looks more promising.

LOL ahaha. It's not really hard to do it. I had mine at 4,5 Ghz, then went down to 4Ghz as it is more than enough. Never gets hotter than 55ºC. But don't worry, that 4440 won't bottleneck your system at all.

Look at the scores for yourself. The cards were all tested with the same hardware (Maybe the 7950 boost but not the stock version):

If I'm honest mantle is a bit of a gamble right now, we haven't seen how much of a performance boost it will give, don't buy a GPU expecting to get an amazing performance boost down the line, even then it will only be for the games that support Mantle. In the UK the GTX 770 is 270 pounds and the 660 TI is 240 pounds so if I was you I'd save the money and get a step higher, the same goes for AMD, the R9 280x is also 270 pounds if that's what your after. Also why not just get a Z77 motherboard and a 3570K? I know you mentioned that you don't want to overclock but even at stock it performs the same as the i5-4430. (NVM this is a US post)

Still I think it's worth it for the 80 dollar difference.

Guys, my 650ti boost has no problem with Drive at all. And I got it for around $160 at Best Buy. My dad's 660 (Non-ti, not overclocked) has no issue with the tech demo on max.
