When you begin opening game files in Notepad++ you start off at a disadvantage - many of them do not load with syntax highlighting! Lots of problems can probably be avoided with a better setup in Notepad++. For the inexperienced this may not seem important, but it's a huge deal.
    1. An untouched install of Notepad++ will display jbeam like this:

    2. One with a proper setup will display it with syntax-highlighting. This color codes the words and symbols which provides a huge advantage in all circumstances:

Here's how to set it up:
    1. Open Notepad++ and go to the "Settings" menu.
    2. Choose "Style Configurator..." from the menu.
    3. In the "Language" column on the left highlight JSON (Available since N++ 6.8.5):

    4. In the "User ext. :" box at the bottom, paste these values in to the box without the quotation marks: "prefab jbeam mis pc".
    5. Click on "Save & Close"
    6. Done - you should now have syntax highlighting.
