Some people just plain cant afford that sort of thing though. Also you would be much better of buying the cards that offer the most performance per dollar and upgrading more regularly. With the likelihood of pc screen resolutions increasing in the next 6 years as well as next gen consoles which will allow the pc to get higher end games i simply doubt that pc will last 6 years while still being "up to date" - - - Updated - - - A general rant about windows 8 despite me only ever using it for a couple of hours. Skip it if you want. I have little personal experience with it but i would have to disagree (especially when this next update rolls along). In the next update they are adding adverts to the search bar, not the web search bar. The one that used to be in your start bar (remember that ). Even though i have a wacom tablet which will work nicely with the (formerly known) metro UI i simply don't want to use it, never mind install a program to allow me to default to desktop. I like my pc free of adverts ,even if i have no intention of using the apps that contain them i cannot support the os because of it. Microsoft has shown recently that it is falling and fast, but it is so huge it will take a long time to actually happen. The surface tablet failures (didn't sell nearly enough), xbox one peeving off some of their most loyal fans. I truly believe the only reason they still exist is because there is little alternative. For me i am sticking with windows 7. My pc is one of my hobbies, i don't want it to be locked down like the windows store and i certainly don't want to be prevented from messing with it. In short i don't trust Microsoft much any more. it wouldn't surprise me if they started charging per person on rentals because kinect detects multiple people, oh wait... They already filed a patent for that.
the cheap route, get a 965 AMD quad core, its good performance by the dollar. a cheap am3 mobo a 4gb stick of memory and a 6770 would be the cheap and efficient.
