Easy. That version had a broken exhaust that burst into flames, the new one is fixed and has a model. It will be released when other bits of the car are more finished. Also that door isn't done in that one either, as is that front bit. Also, remember this? 'I would advise staying away from the parts selector, as some parts are unfinished. Configurations with every stock engine have been made for you to use.' --- Post updated --- Is it? What was it used on then?
I wanna learn to mod so I can take the engine of the GT350 Mustang and put it, model and all, in this.
I'm considering making a Gavril V8 option anyways as it will fit, only just. The 4.0 was made with both turbo/supercharged/twincharged parts, which make around 360hp, which is enough for now. Remember, this is no sports car, and it will roll quite easily! I have no problem with your idea though. If it's what you want, then try it out. I have doubts about if it would fit though, as the Gavril one only just fits, and so does the 4.0.
Are you going to give it some ibishu styling, or is it going to be just a rebadged jeep with different grille? I'd suggest going for a mesh grille on the front (like the hopper) and maybe some lights from stuff like the H-series, or go for the weird bumper taillights that some Japanese SUVs and upscaled covet/pessima styling in the front, that would make for an interesting combination. Pigeon actually could be an okay baseline actually. If you will need help with stuff like exhaust, engines and general modding (other than textures) you can also PM me if you want.
@Shady Chaos In fact, here's just how tight the 4.0 is. The radiator, and its fans, will only just fit in front of it. The Gavril V8 is about 3/4 the length, but sits further into the firewall of the Roamer and such. --- Post updated --- The car is more of a sort of replica than just a re-badge. Underneath it shares many parts with the Hopper and D/H series, and the Roamer. The front, including the grille, is distinctly XJ, and changing it would be missing the character of the car. Square lights and a wide grille are a staple of the second gen Cherokee, and as said previously, a Hopper-like grille isn't to my taste, and doesn't look right. The back is a similar story, flat bumpers definitely wouldn't look very good to me, and the stock ones keep the boxy aesthetic. So do the lights, which are functional more than anything else. So sorry if I disappointed you a little bit, but this car's styling is meant to fit with the Hopper in the 80s/90s Jeep lineup. In fact, tell me one bit about the Hopper (apart from the grille) that isn't distinctly TJ? Besides that though, I would be glad if you could help me with a few things
Alright thanks. Even if I don't learn to mod, a mod thats an iconic SUV will most likely have mods of it lol.
wrinkle345 did a great explanation of how to do engine swaps, if you wanna learn how to do it then check it out: https://www.beamng.com/threads/tutorial-porting-engines-and-other-parts-inbetween-vehicles.28730/
lmao, if it fits then that's a definite hell yes --- Post updated --- I managed to get my exhaust working after correcting some of my stupid mistakes (making all the nodes in the exhaust isExhaust:mainEngine ones), and now the 4.0 crackles and spits flames! (sorry about the bad quality gif) Oh, and I forgot to mention that the trunk is in. It's actually a Roamer trunk JBeam with some nodes and beams missing, and moved about a bit. Works well though, and deforms nice.
He's just showing me how Charmand was an official manufacturer, when I thought that it was created by schumacher, as he was the first and only one so far to release a Charmand vehicle. Don't worry about it
I have to be honest, I'm a bit concerned about this shaking issue. It's come back after I've lightened the car a bit, but I've noticed it seems to only happen on the right hand side when turning right. Turning left is fine, with no shake. If anyone wants to take a look to try and find what's wrong with it, let me know, and I'll PM the car as it is at the moment to you.
This is actually a real thing called death wobble... it primarily happens in solid axle front end vehicles at medium to high speeds when the bushings are all worn out. So... having said that (and not being able to look at it as I am at work right now) I would guess that some of your steering linkages aren't stiff enough or don't have enough damping (seeing as we can't have worn bushings ). Give that a shot on the steering linkages, bump up the stiffness and damping (if possible) on the steering linkages and the linkages holding the axle to the frame and see what it does. Edit: Oh, a steering damper (that shock mounted sideways on the front axle) may also help alleviate some of that as well.
