It's free, i initially considered making it paid (and one of my friends wanted to make it paid for a bit so he can support the work) but i want to make it free from the start so that there's no aggressive things happening around the mod like it was with Cherrier Picnic when that was announced to be paid for the first time.

Another prototype to show, this time based on Mazda RX-8 Hydrogen RE prototype.

Here's the problem i had making this prototype, because BeamNG doesn't has a simple function to switch between different powers and energy sources, i had to limit this thing to just run on hydrogen, meaning there's no button to switch between both petrol (or gasoline for you americans) and hydrogen.

This uses a modified 2.3 engine which runs on hydrogen, it's also limited in power for it to achieve better fuel consumption, as engine eats hydrogen much quicker than gasoline. Total capacity of the tank installed in the trunk is 130L, and it takes about 90 to 120 KM to drain it from full to empty. The car is fitted with hydrogen badges almost everywhere as it's a prototype that supposed to be shown on auto shows and driven by the public, so it has to feel like a production model (even though it never got sold).

It also has a horrible acceleration, 0 - 100 / 60 is about 27.90 seconds, all thanks to the engine and a large tank which weighs a lot with all the hydrogen stored in it. But for a hydrogen prototype, it's okay.

Just before you say it, hydrogen can be used to power a regular engine, but still needs to be modified to use hydrogen gas instead. BMW Hydrogen 7 uses a modified V12 that runs on hydrogen so it absolutely counts.

 

Coincidentally, just yesterday I was thinking about how, as far as I'm aware, Beamng has no hydrogen-powered vehicles, HFC or otherwise.
