I know that, I just meant it by the shape of the body. Maybe the second generation would be a better example mechanically, since it's camry based, even though it's newer than both Pessima generations

In most places around the world BeamNG's car roster only covers a fraction of the local rolling stock.

For example, the only BeamNG cars that could appear in the Warsaw map mod in decent quantities are the 800-Series and the Vivace/Tograc, and even those shouldn't be the most common cars there. Add the occasional Sunburst, I-Series, Bastion and SBR4, and that's it for my local car representation.
    --- Post updated ---
I feel like the Toyota Prius would be a good choice - popular both in Japan and outside it, capable of becoming a racecar (JGTC, anyone?) and perfect for realistic taxi missions.

Let’s not forget it would be the game’s first official hybrid car, meaning that the devs would have to make a hybrid system into the game officially

this is gonna sound weird but we kind of need a like, second remaster for the pessima
the remaster we got was pretty lackluster - and im just gonna share my pet peeves with it
    -
first of all is the fact we never got another body style of the car, which is pretty disappointing as the mazda 626 itself has a station wagon variant:

and aswell as that, the 626 had a liftback / hatchback option too, which could be the games first official liftback (im not really sure what the sbr is) and imo would really suit the car

and although it is earlier than what the pessima in the game is mostly based off of, a coupé too:

second of all, we never got a facelift / pre-facelift which is once again pretty dissapointing, as the 626 got a facelift:

    -
in-game stuff which just annoys me lol:
we still have these nasty hubcaps which have remained the same since the car got added, they really need new textures or a slight remodel
    upload_2023-3-2_10-27-41.png
    upload_2023-3-2_10-47-28.png
(especially comparing it to the other pessima hubcaps)
    upload_2023-3-2_10-39-46.png
the interior looks glossy, including the seats.. what
    upload_2023-3-2_10-35-42.png
the weird trim inconsistency from the dx to the lx, we go from a trim which is 100% plastic to a trim which is 100% chrome, the lx should either have less chrome and body coloured trim or we should have a trim in-between then
    upload_2023-3-2_10-37-36.png
this empty screen on the dash, please bring back the time or something from the pre-remaster
    upload_2023-3-2_10-38-36.png
    this:
    upload_2023-3-2_10-41-34.png
the textures on these wheels could use an update too
    upload_2023-3-2_10-42-32.png
    jbeam thing
    upload_2023-3-2_10-43-2.png
and since the remaster, the car has became really safe, which is sad as the pessima is just a 90s sedan which really doesnt care about safety lol, would be nice to see the tin can-iness of the pre-remaster to come back
    -
thats really it, this generation pessima is my favourite car in the game, and its pretty sad seeing all the potential it has being wasted, as since the remaster im guessing it wont be touched again :(
    -
    -
also i SWEAR TO GOD we used to have some kind of textures saying stuff like ibishu and alarm and stuff on these windows, but theyve just dissapeared over the updates
    upload_2023-3-2_10-52-33.png
    upload_2023-3-2_10-52-42.png
and the glass is really REALLY grey, kind of weird - also here is what it looks like slightly tinted, makes it look more natural

No it is besed more on the Nissan Primera P11. Also note that the names Primera and Pessima are quite similar.

If the remaster is done again, it would be nice if JDM, wagon, and multiple drive systems were prepared. :D

the name is a play on optima afaik, optimist - pessimist and also translates to very bad in italian
and it is 100% not 'besed' on the primera p11 o_O

The 2.7L V6 resembles the 4th generation Accord, the grille design is 90s Mazda, the greenhouse is similar to the Toyota Avalon, and some wheels have Nissan Maxima (or Nissan Cefiro for Japan) influence. The name could be contrasted with Kia Optima. But it is clear that it is not a copy of any of them.
The design is not exactly a Mazda look-alike either: it looks like the 6th generation North American version of the 626 blended with Nissan and Toyota's curvaceous design touches, and the body lines are not as refined as those of the Xedos6.

I also remember someone from the developers once saying that the Pessima was not modeled after any one car.
If I had to say, the Pessima's overall width is about 1.780mm, so the XV20 Camry, the 5th generation Accord for North America, and the A32 Maxima are similar to the Pessima in the same size. I can't say for sure.

But I would like a wagon. The mid-size cars of this era, such as the Camry, Accord, and Nissan Cefiro, which share the same basic design as the Maxima in North America, were basically available as wagons.

iirc the name meaning very bad was unintentional, one of the devs just thought pessima sounded good and didn't know what it meant in Italian

The name is absolutely intentional, classic gabester cynical naming, it's just a bit more on-the-nose than covet or Legran.

Adding to this, the skin UV is ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS, 100% worst skin UV in game, even worse than the 200BX one. Just look at this:
    midsize_UV.png
List of things wrong with it:
    • All the different sideskirt and bumper variants are in the same places, it wouldn't be a problem if they weren't so misalligned and clipping with each other, it's not possible to make a continuous pattern from the body to the bumpers and sideskirts. One model is even split in half on the rear door for no reason.
    • The trim pieces, door handles, mirror mounts and stuff are completely outside of the main UV, you have to guess where they are. To make things worse, THEY ARE IN DIFFERENT PLACES ON THIS UV THAN ON THE BLENDER ONE, so you have to double guess.
    • Panel gaps have extremely inconsistent width, some have messed up edges, almost none line up with the grid, especially the transition from the rear doors to the quarter panels is awful.
    • Very visible bad space management, on the right side a lot of unused space and at the same time a lot of clipping.
    • Worst of all, it does not line up with the pre-remaster UV at all, meaning that old skins completely don't work on the new UV, so modders have to redo them from scratch and suffer with this mess. This is the only car that had such issue, aside from D- and H-Series that had minor misalignment issues.
Devs please redo this UV, I know it means having to redo all the skins again, but it's so terrible that it will be worth it.

NEEDS AWD AND RWD AND ESC FFS. 1st gen Pessima ALREADY had AWD AND RWD, and ESC was already a thing back in the 80s (look up Toyota Crown)

After recent updates the engine sound has become really quite. It’s especially noticeable in 2.7 sport variants. The car has a sport intake and dual sport exhaust and you can barely hear it over the wind noise from inside the cabin.
A bit of a shame considering I always liked how the car sounded. Now you need to basically put a race exhaust to have a somewhat pleasing aural experience from within the cockpit.
