not even sure. maybe a 4 door integra type r , a nice civic ep3 type r.. something like that. or a rx8 and keep the rest of the money for investitions
$10,000 is quite a bit for a good car, I've only spent $6000 on a Lexus IS300, $5500 on a Volvo S40 (T5, 6 speed AWD) and now $6500 on a 2007 Honda Accord sedan V6 6 speed (less than 1000 sedan 6-6s ever made). I also currently have a 96 Miata 1.8/5 speed in beautiful montego blue Mica with the special options package-AC, Cruise, power windows and steering, and a torsen LSD. that was 4300 with a matching hardtop and snow tires, but with 150k miles and shot rockers (as I live in the midwest). Shows just how well Miatas hold their value, I could probably sell it in under 12 hours if I had to. If I had to do it again, I'd get an 04-06 Acura TL with the 6 speed (that includes 4 piston Brembo brakes and an LSD) which would be $5500-7000, and a convertible FC RX-7. I passed on a beautiful example with a fully rebuilt engine that was only $3500 asking, right before I decided to go for a Miata. Even though I did well on the Miata, I regret not getting the (much cheaper and nicer condition) RX7. Likewise, I'm somewhat disappointment with how my Accord drives compared to the TL (same platform, gearbox and J series engine)-the TL was significantly better in steering feel, suspension, turn-in, clutch, shift, and the Accord's "premium" stereo is a joke. But I rarely have the chance to drive 2-3 hours (one way) to look at a car, and I ran out of time to take off work (50-56 hours per week) I doubt I could ever downsize to just one car, I need something old and fun to take out on the weekends, and I want something reliable, comfy with heated seats to take to work. For 10 grand though? e90 330i 6 speed and pocket the remaining 2-3 grand for maintenance. Or wait until FieSTas are 10 grand, I just saw one for 14.7 so it will be a couple years yet... Jetta GLI (MK6) if it's down there yet, but TSIs are garbage. Volvo C30. Pontiac GTO (same as Holden Monaro)

Fr me thats about £7800 I would put it aside until a really lovely classic came up and I would buy it, but until then I wouldnt spend it I would put it away and let it build up over the years before I came back and used it
I would buy a Mitsubishi FTO GPX (4-6 k€) And i would change some used parts to fit the 10k budget ^^ But this is insurance aside, because for a unexperimented driver in France, it would cost something like 4-5k€ / year if any company wants to insure the car !
Nice car choice, but where I live a normal integra goes for 18k euros (people must think they have a supercar or something ) and the RX8 goes for like 12k and the civic from 12k to 20k... My personal choice for a car under that budget would either be a 200sx or a Prelude VTI last gen EDIT people are now asking 26/27k for integra
good rx8's go for like 5k here (start at under 2k€) , good(stock) teggys start at like 7k and ep3 type r civic for like 5-6k as well. wherever you live, seems expensive there
Portugal is expensive on cars and people ask way too much for a car just because they think it's rare... The truth is that I could import a civic type R ek9 wich is much more rare here (1 or 2 in the country) and I would only pay arround 12 to 15k and a ek9 near a integra will get much more atention
