Good evening! Regarding the recent updates on induction damage simulation, I'd like to ask if it might be interesting to implement some sort of limp-mode. If you yank the airbox of cars that have it enabled at the moment, the engine will die. This however isn't entirely realistic as the connection between the throttle body and the engine is still intact. (Gravil D-Series used as guinea pig) At worst, it will sever connection with the mass air flow sensor, which will set the check engine light and throw the car in limp mode. As it is right now, the car is rendered undriveable or will misfire severely. Take the above image as reference, since the throttle body is right on top of the engine.... This scenario should not kill the engine, rather kick it in limp mode as it's realistic to presume the mass airflow sensor is now missing or inoperable. However in-game the car is now undriveable.
Hey The induction damage only happens on (some) forced induction vehicles, NA engines do not get the feature. What most likely happened in your case is that you imparted so much damage to the other engine components that you made it die. The engine jbeam usually isn't detailed enough to simulate damage to specific components, so it's more of a generic approach of "something broke".
