I've used it. And trust me. It beats 56k by a mile or more. It's just aggravating that it is the fastest speed offered in our area. I wish Cable One would hurry up and expand. There's more than enough population out here now. You'll get used to my sarcasm eventually. Or... More smileys!!!
Click on one of the pictures, click on "take a speed test." Click on "begin test." When it finishes click the big green button that says, "SHARE THIS RESULT" Click the forum tab. Click the copy button. Paste it here.
Currently downloading 2 maps, so it's slower than usual. First click Share Result. Then copy paste the image url to the attach image button. Yes, I got bored and made an image tutorial.
Here's mine: Another one for good measure (in the city. I usually get 8ms ping..) Paying for 20:2 with the price of 30(meh, going to upgrade to the 60mbps package soon) Upload limited by router, download is sort of on the limit. I like that Virgin doesn't just say you can have 20, but actually gives you 20 too, though I don't like the fact that all the packages are 10:1 ratios. Anyway, I just came back from holiday in Spain, had about 0.9 down and 0.1 up
Speedtest shows Mb/s and you're talking about MB/s and kB/s, difference is that Mb is megabit and MB is megabyte (8 bits is 1 byte, 6.6Mb/s = 0.825MB/s)
That is their cheapest and slowest plan. They do 40/40, 60/60, 100/100, 400/400 and 1000/1000. Fiber optics are awesome!
HOLY SHIT, 1000/1000? you could stream at such a high resolution, as well as download stuff a lot faster also, Ping test (imported from here)
I have an effective download speed of around 5,2Mb/s. That is fast enough for me, most times. Of course it would be nice with a gigabit internetconnecion, but then the bottleneck is somewhere else, and your effective download speed is reduced anyway. But the upload is pretty neat, I gotta say that.
