Which is a lot of people... Before BeamNG, how many people in this community followed development of RoR? A decent number I am sure, but not compared to the entire current player base. I had that game downloaded and played it for about 15mn before losing interest. I first saw the proof of concept teaser videos for Drive about 3 months after the first one was posted and have been following development ever since. Most people in the community didn't come until much after even that. Aside from people who follow games with dev teams like BeamNG, how many gamers actually note the actions of the developers and such?
Really? Most popular vids on YT of the month for both games. GTA V have only about 4 times more views on average from this "top viewed vids of last 30 days". But GTA is like 100 times more popular and have like ~160 TIMES more sales. BeamNG is actually gaining popularity, and I wouldn't mind YBR vids, as he got lazy and his vids are really not interesting to watch anymore. Hes mod reviews are pointless and not detailed, hes missing tons of stuff from game updates, and he's not alone who decreased in BeamNG vids quality. Two of the most viewed vids in BeamNG.drive history are from 5 months ago (top 4 and top 9). Graph showing last 2 years of peoples logged in to Steam and actually playing BeamNG.drive. Doesn't look like it's decreasing. Developer of the game needs money?! How dare you tdev (and whole rest) to take money for your hard job? Just how? :O /s Yeah they need money from their job for example to buy food, keep families, pay taxes, save for holidays, buy a new toaster, have a life?? For better equimpent and improve studio to develop game, for exhausting in depth researches, for more specialists to work on game, and yeah for their hard job of making BeamNG.drive, that is acheiving something that even biggest AAA game developing studios can't - as soft body physics is really spectacular a lot of game developers would make it, if it wouldn't be that difficult. (no, no! NO! Wreckfest isn't "soft-body" game type, it's far far far behind in damage simulation), so even if BeamNG would stop developing at this point I'd be grateful for this product which I have at this moment, there's no game release that I'm waiting for as much as I'm waiting for each BeamNG.drive update, since the very beggining.
Then are you saying the game is less relevant if the graph shows that it is “gaining” popularity? --- Post updated --- I don’t see the correlation.
if tdev wanted no money, he never would have left rigs of rods and started charging money for his "sequel" tdev did not make rigs of rods, pricorde made rigs of rods pricorde went on to stop working on rigs of rods, and tdev had started working on rigs of rods tdev wanted to make money off of rigs of rods tdev was unable to make any money off of rigs of rods tdev started rigs of rods 2 and charged for it tdev is now making a nominally non-0 amount of money, presumably
You don't say...? So... We have been paying for BeamNG all along? I thought it was yet another free game on freegames.com, so disappointed now... How dare they charge us for their work?! Uninstalling now...
maybe, maybe not. personally? i don't think so. alot of kids have gone back to school, alot of the old modders (pre 0.5.0) now have jobs and are going to college (I bought BeamNG for @AR162B 's D-series mod only to find out it broke earlier in the month) , some of the youtubers may be losing interest. do i play the game everyday or post everyday? no, i have other games i want to play. we are two months since the last update (this feeling happened between 0.9 and 0.10.). the sandbox environment keeps most of us coming back.
