I think we gone off the wrong step here, I said that purely to prevent stuff like racist stuff happen, not blocking off anyone that's not Chinese, which is racist in it's own way. If I typed my message wrong, I'm sorry, but I insist my opinion that the language difference between Chinese and English are very different, so we need someone who can understand both language to check on the naming of the car in order to prevent such event.
I should add here is a resource for how the model code works just incase the author decides he wants a code and wants it to be a little more authentic, since it's structured and fairly standardized: https://chinacarhistory.com/2018/12/20/the-chinese-designation-systems/ It's less like a serial number and more model designation standard by the government basically, Robert_CZLP just chooses 2-3 letters as the manufacturer designation/code. For example Geely has "JL", FAW has "CA", Dongfeng has "EQ". 7 after those letters, then 2 numbers for engine displacement, and 1 more number followed by whatever letters he thinks is appropriate. I am not aware of any sedans that were built using a bus license, where you would obviously use a 6 where the 7 is,even though it was popular to make busses since it was supposedly easier to get a license for that. Even Beijing Zhonghua used Qinchuan Automotive's car manufacturing license for the sedan variant of the car they were manufacturing (QCJ instead of CHB). It's way less prominent to display on cars now, but as far as I'm aware it was pretty common on older cars. Naturally, there can be a "name" for the car separate from the model designation. It's really up to the guy how in-depth they want to get on the pedantic stuff; I'd also appreciate some extra care into this stuff since it's interesting to me and obviously some respect is attached, but it's understandable if they don't feel like investing too much time into it; it's just a mod for a game at the end of the day. Don't forget how the Ibishu Kashira was named: https://www.beamng.com/threads/1995-ibishu-kashira-gen-2.49115/page-6#post-752331
not trying to be rude but i agree with car8john with this it is their mod they should be the ones to name it and if you do not like it do not download it but however if you notice something like that slipping through somehow then let the mod dev know and he would probably change it
we just want it to go in a good direction. If someone names their car "ibishu sh*t" it's perfectly legal. but it doesn't make sense, so it won't be popular.nor do we deny everyone's point of view. as Chinese, we are more familiar with chinese and understand the history of china's automobile industry. i think we can make the most reasonable opinion. we don't want to watch a good mod go in a stupid direction. if someone had made a better suggestion, it would have been adopted regardless of nationality. of course, the final result is determined by the author by the way, I don't want to start a fight quarrel
you can make it more of a typical Chinese Domestic Market facelift by changing the taillights and using body-coloured trim ,and I suppose using wheels that looks like from the 2000s and 2010s might be better
In fact, the Chinese market pays more attention to the exterior and interior, therefore, most of the 2000-2010s China cheap car design will aluminum alloy wheels as a selling point, such as this paragraph from the Chinese version of jetta website: “new provide 5 radial design of aluminum alloy wheels, fashion, steady, wheels and vehicle shape, thickness is different, strewn at random of spokes is the harmony of power and elegance.” (Forgive me for the machine translation from the mobile phone)
VW Jetta King and VW Santana have options for both hubcaps and alloys, i assume this mod was based on these cars, so it would be plausible for both then
glad to see a chinese community member who knows the language, feel free to DM me about any of the names, ill appreciate it
Maybe we can say that they make all kinds of vehicles, expanded lore moment I think thats what they mean
Maybe. Nice name actually.Chinese regard the Chinese dragon as the symbol of the nationality. Some words in Chinese could also be pronounced as Long Xing, for example: 隆兴(prosperity) 龙兴(“龙”means dragon and “兴”means thriving) I think these 2 names might be better
YES! We need more Chinese cars on beam! I'm obsessed with China and the Chinese communist party and stuff like that, continue, and make more!
