I'm still waiting to borrow my friend's x-box controller. I gave up trying to use the keyboard. I'm determined to do the track with the '86 Silverado 4x4, but I apparently don't have the skill with just the keyboard.
I got my friends controller last night. I haven't had much time to do anything and I've been getting in around 8 or 9 each night but I spent about 15 minutes last night and finally made it up the first bluff (after the tight canyon at the beginning) for the first time. Using the controller allows me to use a standard shift and the steering helps a lot. I'm looking forward to trying the entire course with no restarts.
My Mission, is to try and crawl down to the bottom in something without rolling or taking damage XD Wish me luck.
When I load the map up I get an error that It can't find unnamed texture. The entire dirt road looks black, any help with fixing this? Tried to install the new way (using experimental), and old way (direct to levels folder, not zipped).
I have a similar problem. I've tried the experimental .zip in the mods folder and just extracting the files into my BeamNG folder but I don't see the map at all in the game.
In order to use the .zip method you have to first unzip the map, then drop the folder containing all the resources into a folder named levels then rezip that folder. If you are doing a car mod you have to zip it in a folder called vehicles . These tags let the game know what the zip is. This however has nothing to do with my issue..
I downloaded version .1 of Leap-Of-Death and I dropped the .zip file in to the mods folder of BeamNG.drive, but when I go to play, the map is not there. I am new to BeamNG.drive, so I'm probably doing something wrong here... Any and all help appreciated!
Yep. Be sure that the folder is named "mods\levels\Leap-Of-Death" And that all the files are in the Leap-Of-Death folder, not subfolders. This level was made long before the steam version and isn't zipped after the new "experimental" fashion.
I am having the same issue with black ground and no textures. It started this around the time of the Steam switch. I have no mods folder. I just unzip the downloaded map into the levels folder. Should I have a mods folder somewhere?
Your way works too. I think the missing texture is caused by one of the files changing names and so not being able to be referenced by this map. I think there was a comment on it in the recent dev blog comments.
I there a way to fix this, even temporarily? I'm trying to see which texture is being referenced, but im noob as hell. Edit: I found it, its called rocky dirt, EDIT: I FIXED IT MOTHERFCKERS (can we swear?), hows that for my 4th post ever? the Macro setting seems to be the key, and this should work on other maps too Edit 3: see main post in forum for general fix for missing textures in tech demo
