But then, almost all major BeamNG youtubers (WhyBeAre, Neilogical, Draegast, etc) are decently good at editing and all at 1080p60+ resolutions.
I saw an youtube comment on where a guy asked if game companies could make an simulator with realistic car physics, some other dude replied by suggesting beamng. Then the dude proceeded to go and watch some youtube vids about beamng and then came back disappointing saying that "one explosion completely glitches out the car" (refrencing the propane tank mod i guess) and called the collssion physics unrealistic and simply made. I was really annoyed about that for the whole day after i read that because there was no one to correct him.
I call those video game conservatives, who want to preserve the old ways of invincible cars. (No offense to conservatives)
God, I went down the same path while I was bored and guess what. More crappy and some agreeable negative reviews. "This game currently has countless issues that make it almost unplayable in its current state. I understand that it is early access, but this game is not currently worth the money that it is, and it certainlly should not be at a 0.9 state. First problem is the loading screens. Everything takes 15+seconds to load regardless of the hardware I play the game on. Not to mention the optimization is garbage. Everytime you save a custom vehicle (which I will elaborate on further), the vehicle re-renders. The re-rendering can take anywhere between 10 and 30 seconds and with all the parts that the game has, creating a custom vehicle is a time comitment. Which brings me to custom vehicles in the first place. It takes almsot twenty minutes to create one because of the loading and re-rendering, and even after that when you save it doesn't always work! I have tried to save 3 custom vehicles, each of them taking a good amoutn of time to create, and I can't load any of them. Then there is the interface to begin with. The mix of long and glitchy loading screens and then the userface being slow, unresponsive and laid out like garbage, is very hard to deal with. On many of the 'campaigns', there is a large box that takes up most of the screen which I assume was meant for text, but it is just blank or has 2% of it used by the points you got. And there is a left column that has nothing in it, and then at the bottom left there is the next or retry buttons. The big menu that you see in some of the game shots as well may as well be trash. It is slow, unresponsive and extremely complicated and not thoughtout in terms of layout or readability. The missions are fun, and for the most part work well, but you can't select specific missions within a group. You just have to play all of them together. There is a pretty fun cannon mission where you get to shoot a car with a cannon, however, you have to play through 4 somewhat ok missions before you can get to that one! The game also only comes with 2 missions, and the rest are lack-luster user creations that you have to download from a pretty sketchy website. I haven't had much luck with finding good missions there. Finally there is the controls and drivability of the vehicle. The tires, I'm pretty sure, are made of butter. If you driver more than 60mph, even the slightest movement left or right will cause you to go into an uncontrolable spin. Driving quickly in this game just sucks, cause you always know you're about 20 seconds away from having you car trashed. But this is also mostly a problem with how you control the cars. You can only go FULL THROTLE or NO THROTLE. There is no inbetween. You can also only go FULL RIGHT or FULL LEFT, which makes doing small constant turns impossible. There is a 'big loop' set up on the grid map, and just getting around the turn is damn near impossible due to the constant clicking you have to do to turn in a slight manner. Overall I would say this game is currently worth around 5 dollars, at most. The destruction is nice, but the camera doesn't always let you see what happens to your car once a mission decides it is finnished, and the free roam will decide to spawn you in weird places if you change vehicles part way through. Very disappointed compared to the videos and other reviews I've seen." Now with the loading screens, i'd agree with the loading times. They've become more horrible as each update has passed by. But again, this really depends on your computer. But man, I laugh at the drivability of the cars section every time!
"I really want to love this game, but it's still faaar too buggy to really be playable. The controls are very glitchy and frequently stop working entirely, the menu system is a mess, and the chase camera is super finnicky. Overall I really like the direction it's going, but it needs a good 2 years of nothing but bugfixes before it's really enjoyable." This was the best one I found. There's some pretty good reasons and it has some vaild points. "This isn't a game, it's a tech demo. That's not a bad thing. It's just something you should know going into it. The menu system feels more like photoshop than a game interface. The lack of real gameplay is where it becomes obvious that this was never meant to be a game. I should have known. It's not like they were claiming it was anything else. If you want to just smash up cars endlessly then this is the game for you. I asked for a refund though. I was expecting more. EDIT: Also, the fanbase is a bit rabid EDIT2: REALLY REALLY rabid" 1. This is not a tech demo 2. The menu feels a bit complex, but certainly not like photoshop. 3. "Obvious that this was never meant to be a game"?!?! 4. What do you mean by "rabid"?
The one that reviewed it is better than that far cry kid, at least he can turn at 60 MPH, the far cry kid only could turn at 20. I also laugh a lot with these reviews, even my friend that played beamng for like 10 minutes said that the phisics are good.
Mods can and will crash your game and mess it up. All the problems you have are probably caused by mods or missing files that you may have deleted. Try to clear the cache and start the game in safe mode. Also verify the integrity on the game to fix missing files in steam. Also sketchy web sites? DONT USE RUSSIAN SITES! only use the official beamng site. Your just stating stuff that can be easily fixed or you think this is an arcade game. https://www.beamng.com/resources/ Watch this video to know how the traction works. BeamNG is a simulator not a need for speed game. Here is a video by the developers explaining the "butter" tires. At 0:38 they even state your traction problem then answer it.
Basically, people can't read the system requirements before buying games. This : SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM: OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Processor: Desktop Intel i3 Memory: 4 GB RAM Graphics: GTX 550 TI DirectX: Version 11 Storage: 5 GB available space RECOMMENDED: OS: Windows 10 64 Bit Processor: High-end Intel i5/i7 or High-end AMD 6 Core or better Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: GTX 780 DirectX: Version 11 Storage: 5 GB available space Additional Notes: Gamepad recommended
It is possible to play on a 8540p on low, at 1024x768, with one car, and the fans blazing. My T420 did this for a while and its the same gen of cpu/iGPU Hell, i play on the laptop at the top of my signature on normal with AA on and i can have 2 cars on most small maps. Then again i call 18 fps playable. Then again, i dont recommend you to play this on a dual core laptop with an iGPU. I'm just weird.
We're just talking about how stupid some people are. idk, it's just a random thread that I made because of boredom. Tired of seeing so many idiots reviewing the game negatively.
Here are some reviews, such as complaining about how he can't handle above lowest settings, and how he isn't Serzari. --- Post updated --- And how about this one?
These aren't so much reviews as they are some (seriously) uneducated opinions from Youtube's Thorbjorn Madsen, based off of FailRace's "Driven Till Destruction" videos. "And all cars in BeamNG universe are made in a wasteland, as are weak. Even all car mods for Beam are also weak, even the Mercedes-Benz E420 mod. In real life Mercedes-Benz E-Class have more durability and strength than the Mercedes mod. Do that guy who made this mod really hate Mercedes-Benz." -Episode 8 "Look at how trucks on Beam shakes on impacts. Trucks in real life doesn't shake that much." -Episode 12 "See? BeamNG is so unrealistic as you saw how the radiator damaged on the Bitron B2 and the Soilad 4000. Radiators aren't that fucking weak in real life. People who say "BeamNG is very realistic" are fucking retarded moron and have no brains or got diarrhea shoved in their throats." To be honest, BeamNG isn't perfect, but it sure is a whole lot better at simulating damage than quite a few "simulators". For example, I remember playing Simraceway a couple years ago, and that (while being multiplayer and having over 150 cars) just wasn't all that exciting because of the massive lack of any sort of deformation AND the lack of pop-up headlights actually working at all, meaning that a lot of cool cars (like the AE86) couldn't really be driven at night on mountain roads. That's just crazy, in my opinion; calling a game a simulator and not even being able to simulate pop-up headlights.
Radiators aren't that weak in real life...? Radiators usually don't tell you when damage has occurred, by the time you finally realize you had a fluid leak, it's usually too late... Life needs on screen display and console messages, then BeamNG will finally get proper reviews...
