Then set the "Fast Smoothing" to ~200. Just tried it and works fine (minimum rattling). :)

We will keep the first post updated.
At the moment only temporary solutions.

I guess getting in touch with Logitech during holidays is not exactly the fastest thing..

Setting the value for fast smoothing and slow smoothing minimizes the rattle. Just tweak around like I did and you'll find the best settings.

could that be the problem? perhaps the games ffb settings and the Logitech software settings are telling te game to do 2 different things when resetting a car e.g. one wants to make the wheel completely rigid but the other wants to keep it loose and it causes confusion and the game crashes, im going to try disabling my Logitech software and see f that is the issue. this would also explain why turning off ffb stops the issue because then there is no contradiction between the two different ffb drivers.

that didn't work but i think i found an update for the g920 software and i will do this update and try it out

    here's a link to the downlad- http://support.logitech.com/en_gb/downloads

ok that didn't work as it wasn't an update but after testing i have concluded that the issue lies ikn the process of moving the car, i know this because i used ctrl+r to respawn my car on the spot and it worked fine but when i went into free camera and teleported the car away the game froze up and crashed so it has to be when the car is being teleported by the system.

Upon looking into the settings in the Logitech Gaming Software if you disable "allow game to adjust force settings" it fixes the problem and you can run FFB in game with out doing the disabling it and re-enabling it thing i mentioned earlier so you seem to be right with your assumption that the game settings and the Logitech settings are doing different things causing it to crash
Oh wait never mind i had it disabled in game >~<

Alright, just got some experimental DLL files from Logitech and once again I need your help with testing. No one has yet been able to validate this fix, so keep in mind this may or may not work correctly.

Just open the attached zip file and follow the instructions included inside.

After testing, please report back here with your findings.

If you still get a crash after applying this potential fix, please follow the instructions from this post so we can collect more information to understand the crash better.

I found that disabling the ffb in game completely fixes it actually.

    But then no FFB.
The fix Stenyak posted above should solve the issue.

Tried the zip file (64 bit) and it worked for a couple of minutes but the game started crashing again for the same reason. I'm guessing I copied the files on the wrong place, could anyone explain how to copy the files to the %ProgramFiles% folder? I can't seem to find it.

PS: I'm kind of new to pc gaming so I get stuck with the easiest tasks -_-

In your keyboard, hold the left windows key (between ctrl and alt), then tap the R key.
A new dialog will come up.
In there, write %ProgramFiles% and press enter or click OK.
