It seems to sound a little bit more focused on highs, but the bass is great on them as well. I haven't heard much from a high-quality pair of headphones before, so I'm kinda biased that anything was better than the iPhone stock ones I use.

I did hear that they were very good for their price. Basically, there are better pairs out there, but for the price, these are great.

I find myself in the same situation. I have a nice gaming headset with a retractable mic (Which I'd rather not wear in public) but I want an on ear portable headphone that's under 100 bucks and I can actually use. Anyways this isn't about me, but here's a video I found pretty helpful a while back. Kind of out of date but I'm sure these are still great headphones.

Headphones don't simply go out of date. Those ATH M50s are over 10 years old.

Even though they are amazingly awesome, I doubt $30k is in the works.

I was watching worlds most expensivest sh*t by 2 Chainz, and the guy who had the headphones got them for only $6000 in 2008! He got a bloody good bargain!

I'd recommend a pair of AKG K240's, they're really great headphones when you consider the price. I got my pair off Amazon for $70. But if you want to spend over $150, I'd go with a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50's.

Hay all, thanks for so many replies... I may have found a decent pair for what I am looking for and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them. They are a pair of Marahall Major FX headphones ($99.95 @ Apple). They look like they will fit me needs and sounded decent at the Apple Store. Has anyone had a pair? Are they any good?
    Thanks!

The Sennheiser HD 555's are pretty good as are the newer version the 558's. The 555's are around $60 and the 558's are around $120.
