    Hi,
I was trying to make one of my ECU from my E34 improved mod have an "bounce" idle. But I have to admit that I don't really understand how Lua works or how to link it to the game. I really should learn that, and I'm here to ask for some help with it. So, my main goal is to reproduce the effect of "evrymod" on the M21 and M51 engines when the idle moves from (for example) 500 to 800 RPM.
    upload_2024-4-9_2-33-26.png (here the monster)

Here is the current state of the ECU jbeam:

Note: You can see that I moved some mainEngine attributes here to make the engine more customizable depending on the ECU (by the way, there's no problem at all with the engine; everything works perfectly).
    And here the lua file:

I know this is kinda empty. it's just a draft.

You should understand that I'm here asking for help to LEARN, and not for a complete stranger to do it instead of me.
    Thanks for your time.

(It should be release soon on forum)

something along the lines of "idleRPMRoughness":(whatever number/amount you want) should work if you put it in that line somewhere here in the ecu section, capitilization might be off upload_2024-4-8_22-0-8.png , lua shouldnt be needed really, its also possible to make it adjustable in the tuning section but i dont remember how fully, might message later if i figure it out

idle roughness is what i originally suggested but i read the top wrong i thought he wanted the rpms to bounce up and down between exactly 500-800 rpm lol

this is what i wanted exactly

Did idleRPMRoughness strong enought for reproduce the effect?
I will made some test and I will tell you then

Make an lua code still can be interresing because it's will be great if like in the video we can switch the evry mod by pressing a button on the dash.

Making the touring body takes all my time but after that and some optimisation I will post it.

That actually what i want. to make it "bounce"
"idleRPMRoughness" can't do the result I search.

i suppose you could also ask for the
idlerpmroughness can work, you just have to fine tune the number to get the result you want

i know iretrox has some custom lua in his DFA mod to make the cams have that fast and uneven idle so you could try and ask him in his discord how he did it.

idle rpm roughness won't work for this. it isn't nearly consistent enough.
