I don't know if you mind, but I'd much rather make its sister ship (The XPBB-1) or its brother from another mother (The B-32). Maybe even one of the competitors that lost to it (The XB-30). The stepless cockpit just doesn't appeal to me at all. In case you're wondering what those 3 look like, here's a picture of each: Boeing XPBB-1 Sea Ranger Convair XB-32 Dominator (Prototype) Covair B-32 Dominator (Production Aircraft) Lockheed XB-30 Constellation
The B-29 and the B-52 are my favorite old time bombers because my uncle flew bombing runs on both of those planes.
I would really like to see a light aircraft like the CL-44 Avro Yukon glider. Maybe for easy transport.
There have been a few tests, yes, but Beam's method of adding the 3d model (Flexbodies) is one that if nor perfectly right will lead to the model contorting itself in weird ways, so practical over visual approach is being used instead.
Backflips? Do you mean loops? If so, it definitely cannot, it would stall out if it went near vertical. Or might just rip its wings off, not sure. From the flight manual "Loops and rolls are strictly forbidden. Do not roll more than 60 degrees on this aircraft." Not that it couldn't handle 60 degree rolls, but it would be incredibly hard to recover from one (Which in turn would lead to a spectacular crash). So to sum up: You can try doing it in Beam to get some great crashes, but that's up to you.
I am curious as to how you are going to texture this baby. Mitch's B-25 uses 4096 texture I believe and looks incredible. I'm just envisioning the beautiful midnight blue in high resolution. Sorry if have addressed this already.
Well, since I'm also doing this for War Thunder, and its default skins are 4096x4096, I was planning one using one of those for the exterior, and some more for the interior bits.
